What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘Michigan Republicans propose tax credit for unborn foetuses’

‘Republican lawmakers in Michigan, a state which eliminated tax credits for children last year, have proposed a tax credit for unborn foetuses of 12 weeks gestation’.

Dusting off my very best captian Jack Sparrow – WHAT?!?

Let me get this right (no pun intended) Republican lawmakewrs, you got rid of a tax credit for the kids waling around but you want to GIVE a tax credit for the ones not yet born.

Got it.

But it gets better.

In ‘explaining’ the bill, the Republican lawmaker said ‘”You’re recognizing the fact that people have additional expenses, another person to take care of”. And once the child is born, the expenses must go down because that’s why they got rid of the tax credit for actual children walking around.

That’s what’s wrong with the Republican Party.

They will fight for the rights of the unborn right up until they are born – then you’re on your own……Well until you’re dying. Then the Republicans will fight not for you quality of life but to make sure you stay alive….regardless of the pain and suffering you’re in.

‘If the measure, outlined in two bills heard by the house tax policy committee on Tuesday, becomes law it would be the first of its kind in the US’.

‘Critics said the proposal was “absurd” and described it as a backdoor way of trying to pass “personhood” legislation which would give rights to an embryo and crack down on abortion’.

‘The Michigan house of representatives this year passed part of a three-bill package that would restrict access to abortion and heavily regulate clinic that performs them. Republican leaders have come under fire for banning a Democrat from speaking after she said the word “vagina” in a debate on an abortion bill earlier this year’.

‘One of the main sponsors of the foetus tax credit bill, Jud Gilbert, a Republican representative of Algonac, said the rationale behind it was to recognise that mothers have additional bills to pay’.

“You’re recognizing the fact that people have additional expenses, another person to take care of,” he told told Mlive. “Money saved there could be contributed to doctor’s bills and all kinds of things.”

‘Jill Kelley Recommended for Award by Petraeus’

This whole ‘affair” reeks for me from the beginning. I am apparently one of the few that’s glad he resigned.

Being the Director of the CIA or a General REQUIRES that you have sound judgement – make good decisions.

This affair showed he does not.

And as the details keep dripping out, it starts disgusting me.

‘Jill Kelley — a central figure in the investigation of Gen. David Petraeus — in March 2011 was awarded a prestigious medal from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the New York Post reports’.

‘The award, the country’s second-highest honor for a civilian, was given to acknowledge Kelley’s “selfless contributions” and “willingness to host engagements” for top pols and military brass. Petraeus recommended her for the award’.

FOX ‘news’ – ‘Fox’s Tantaros Treats Food Stamps As A Diet Plan: “Do You Know How Fabulous I’d Look?”

‘On the eve of Thanksgiving, Fox News pundit Andrea Tantaros mockingly dismissed the plight of hungry Americans, claiming that she would “look fabulous” if she were forced to live on a food stamp diet’.

‘Tantaros’ vapid commentary came in response to Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Cory Booker’s pledge to accept the food-stamp challenge and try to subsist on $133 for food per month for an extended period of time, just as food stamp recipients in New Jersey do’.

‘After Fox Business panelists speculated whether Booker’s pledge is an effort at “positioning himself for a run for the presidency as a man of the people,” Tantaros quipped: “I should try it because, do you know how fabulous I’d look. I’d be so skinny. I mean, the camera adds ten pounds.”

‘In May, Sean Hannity encouraged those suffering with food insecurity to shun SNAP and instead eat more rice and beans, which he said could be purchased “for relatively negligible amounts of money.”

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘Right Wing Invents New Bengahzi Conspiracy Theory: Top U.S. Intel Official Is A Liar’

Let’s recap.

First Obama was lying.

That didn’t work and as it turned out (get the transcript) he did refer to the Bengahzi attack as a ‘act of terror’.

So a couple of weeks later, UN Ambassador Susan Rice was lying.

That didn’t work out because she was just offering the talking points given to her by the intelligence agencies. Even General Petraeus testified to that.

See Senators McCain and Graham mumbling about ‘Well they should have told us earlier’.

So NOW – it’s Director of Natioanl Intellegence James Clapper who is lying (because they are running out of people to blame).

‘The Republicans’ new focus of attack in the faux “Benghazi-gate” scandal is Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper, claiming that he lied about the source of changes to talking points on the Benghazi attack given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’.

– BILL O’REILLY: “Now it’s James Clapper, President Obama’s national security guy who is saying, “Oh, it’s me. I sent Rice out there and I took out all the al Qaeda stuff.” I’m not buying it. None of this adds up. … All right so there’s a lot of lying going on here”.

– CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: “I’m not buying it because the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said that a week ago in classified testimony that same Clapper said that they had no idea who changed the talking points and now a week later he seems to say he did? That’s kind of strange. I mean I’ve seen amnesia in my day in my clinical days and that one is pretty quick, one week”.

– TUCKER CARLSON: “I hate to think that the director of National Intelligence lied, is a liar. But I’m not sure I see an alternate explanation. Apparently, he’s contradicting what he testified to just last week. Is there another explanation for this?”

– FOX NEWS’ STEVE DOOCY: “They did say it is out of the [DNI] office. It’s not him per se, so we’re supposed to believe that a Clapper aide changed what Petraeus had said? That’s very, very curious”.

– REP. TREY GOWDY (R-SC): “This is the head of our national intelligence and he changed his mind within the course of 24 hours. So how are you possibly going to have any confidence in what he says”?

And while Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) didn’t call Clapper a liar, he told Fox News’ Stuart Varney that he now might be involved in the alleged cover up:

GINGREY: “Now have you got someone who basically can trump the CIA, especially if the president says to him — I am not suggesting that he did, but he could have — look, James, we need to kind of clean this up a little bit.. We are doing really well. We’re right about time for the election and we are doing very well on national security and this could blow our cover”.

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘GOP Senators Attack Obama, Praise Egyptian President In Statement On Gaza Ceasefire’

Ideology.

When you praise foreign leaders but condem our President for doing the same thing.

‘Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Egyptian Prime Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr today announced a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, ending eight days of violence that resulted in nearly 150 dead and more wounded’.

‘President Obama dispatched Clinton to the region yesterday and the nation’s top diplomat traveled to Jerusalem and Cairo today to help facilitate the deal’.

‘But in a statement on the Gaza ceasefire today, Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) — one day after intelligence officials debunked their attacks on the Obama administration over Benghazi — didn’t have any kind words for the president and his team’.

‘In fact, the new “Three Amigos” attacked Obama, saying there needs to be “smarter American leadership” in the Middle East’.

‘Yet the three Republicans did have praise for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi’:

“We commend Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders for the role they played in reaching today’s ceasefire”.

“We also are encouraged by the responsible leadership role played by the President of Egypt and his government. President Morsi deserves credit for successfully bringing an end to the violence and preventing further loss of life on both sides”.

‘Campaign Worker Got a Condom with His Check’

‘Staffers for Linda McMahon’s (R) failed U.S. Senate campaign in Connecticut tell WTNH-TV they were not paid after Election Day’.

‘One who complained publicly said he was later handed a check but also got a little something extra in his envelope’.

‘Said the campaign worker: “Basically he handed me a check with a condom in it, told me I was screwed. That’s the rudest gesture you can ever do to a person, it’s like spitting in a person’s face.”

‘His check also bounced’.

One More Time For The Republicans because the last 33 times weren’t enough – ‘Boehner Reverses Course, Promises To Repeal Obamacare Through ‘Oversight’

‘After President Obama’s decisive re-election, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) starkly admitted that “Obamacare is the law of the land.”

‘Facing backlash from fellow Republicans and critics of the landmark health reform law, the Speaker’s office softened that stance, asserting that “full repeal” still remained the GOP objective’.

‘But recent polls have shown that public support for repealing Obamacare is plummeting, making such GOP tactics a waste of time at best’.

But that won’t stop Speaker John It’s The People’s House And We Do The Will Of The People Except When It Interfers With Our Party’s Ideology Boehner :

“The tactics of our repeal efforts will have to change. But the strategic imperative remains the same”.

“Congress has a constitutional responsibility to conduct thorough oversight of the executive branch, and congressional oversight will play a critical role in repealing Obamacare going forward”.

“Vigorous oversight of the health care law by the House can be expected and, in fact, is already under way’.

Blog Running – Republican Ideology – ‘McCain Officially Admits He Was Wrong on Benghazi Without Admitting It’

When your political party comes before Country.

‘If you hear a slight sound, its the sound of an Etch-a-Sketch’.

‘I mean, if you lose your best political bud Joe Lieberman, who do you have left’?

‘Here’s a statement just issued by Arizona Senator John McCain – a political figure who more often than not no longer comes off looking like a moderate, but more of an aspiring Fox News commentator’.

“I am somewhat surprised and frustrated to read reports that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was responsible for removing references to Al-Qaeda from the unclassified talking points about the Benghazi attack that Ambassador Susan Rice and other officials used in the early days after September 11, 2012″.

“I participated in hours of hearings in the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence last week regarding the events in Benghazi, where senior intelligence officials were asked this very question, and all of them – including the Director of National Intelligence himself – told us that they did not know who made the changes”.

‘Crooks and Liar’s Nicole Belle’:

“Wait, does that mean that John McCain changed his public stance after receiving new and more specific intelligence? Imagine that”.

“But that doesn’t mean that Grampy McSame likes Ambassador Rice any more than he did last week”.

“Despite being armed with information that exculpates Rice of his major criticism, McCain has not yet retracted his vow to block Rice’s presumptive nomination to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Of course, it may be that the same man who thought Sarah Palin was imminently qualified to be one heartbeat away from the presidency still thinks that Harvard alum Rice is not ‘qualified’ to be Secretary of State”.

‘I’ve concluded that John McCain is allergic to rice and addicted to acting out in ways so he can show Barack Obama that he still has power and is as relevant as ever’.

‘And I’ve cloncluded the first may be true — but the second is not’.

‘Andrew Sullivan, in his own subtle style, says this’:

“The irascible douche now acknowledges there is no evidence that Susan Rice was responsible for editing CIA talking points after the Benghazi attack, and that the DNI gave her what she subsequently went on TV with. End of scandal. No formal retraction or apology of course…”.

“Of course, McCain believed it was perfectly obvious that Saddam had WMDs in Iraq. And so did I. I’ve learned to wait for the facts a little bit longer before jumping to conclusions of conspiracy or mendacity”.

‘Well, Andrew, you and others may do that, and it may be the thoughtful, responsible thing for serious people to do, but, hey’:

‘McCain’s a maverick…’.
