Gotta LOVE the Donald!
He should do a stand up act in Vegas!
What has been trending for a couple of days (or longer) now is a backlash to the Republicans voter fraud and suppression actions. This is actually increasing the voter turnout in a ‘you’re not taking away MY vote’.
Just the opposite of what the Republicans wanted.
And while Obama will ‘lose’ approx. 350,000 votes in the wake of Hurricane Sandy displacing voters, he may well gain over that # due to the backlash of Republican voter suppression and get a popular vote victory also.
(CNN) – ‘The final polls are out and behind the national horserace is a fascinating dynamic – Mitt Romney is narrowly winning independent voters while President Obama is winning centrist voters by a nearly 20-point margin’.
‘For example, here in the must-win battleground state of Ohio, the final CNN/ORC poll showed Romney edging Obama among independent voters by two points, 48% to 46%. But among moderate voters, Obama is crushing Romney by 21 points – 57% to 36%’.
‘National polls also bear this dynamic out. In the final Pew poll of this election, Romney is winning independent voters by a three point margin, 44% to 41%. But Obama is winning centrist voters by a 21-point margin – 56% to 25%’.

I still standing on President Obama – 294 Romney – 244 and the President winning the popular vote although that make take a week to two weeks to finalize.
So from a week ago : https://thelastofthemillenniums.wordpress.com/category/daily-2012/. And the only tweaking I’m thinking of doing is moving Virginia to an earlier win for the President.
Forgive me the hours that I picked, poll closings and such as this may drag out a little more then I think.

“I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
‘Paul Weyrich’
‘The right wing and GOP have whipped up hysteria around voter fraud, which is virtually non-existent, in order to justify roadblocks to voting for millions of Americans’.
‘Weyrich is widely regarded as the “founding father of the conservative movement.” He founded ALEC and co-founded the Heritage Foundation, Moral Majority, Council for National Policy, and Free Congress Foundation, among others’.
‘Speaking more than 30 years ago at a right-wing conference in Dallas, Weyrich set out the case for voter suppression. The right-wing and GOP are still acting on it to this day’.

My best guess is that when President Obama wins re-election, the Conservative bloggers and press will over react.
The fringe groups especially the teabaggers will go wild.
And I love it.
Because the more they talk, rant, the more the rest of America will see them and say – ‘My God, they ARE crazy’.
And then maybe we can get back to being a Republic – a Republic for ALL of us.
Not just a few that want a romanticized version of what they think America should be.
‘A gated community near Atlanta has decided to step up security this week. The reason is not burglaries, but another issue entirely: the presidential election’.
‘In Woodstock, Ga., about 30 miles north of Atlanta, the president of a homeowners’ association sent an e-mail on Sunday informing residents that the entrance gates would be closed 24 hours a day beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, out of concern over possible civil unrest after the election’.
‘Mr. Stanley, the president of the homeowners’ association, said in an interview that he made the decision to close the gates based on a recommendation from local law enforcement officials’.
‘A spokeswoman for the Woodstock Police Department said in a statement that the agency had no information suggesting that the election would be anything but peaceful. “Anyone suggesting otherwise does not speak on behalf of the department,” said the spokeswoman, Brittany Duncan’.
‘The e-mail, which took some residents by surprise, was the latest sign that fringe voices predicting looting and rioting after the election have been making some nervous. The radical predictions have had an anti-Obama tinge, with some warning of civil disobedience depending on whether President Obama wins or loses the election’.
‘In Texas, the top elected official in Lubbock County caused a stir when he said in August that he was expecting civil unrest if Mr. Obama was re-elected. “And we’re not talking just a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy,” the official, County Judge Tom Head, said on the Fox station in Lubbock. “O.K. Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops. I don’t want them in Lubbock County.”
‘Last week, a leader of the American Family Association, a conservative evangelical group, predicted widespread looting and mayhem if Mr. Obama lost. “People out there are going to be saying that ‘Governor Romney is going to take all this away from us,’” Bryan Fischer, the group’s director of issue analysis, said on his radio program. He added: “I think there’s going to be unrest. I think there will be blood.”

“We don’t understand this ‘fair share,’” Wild said. “But nearly 50 percent pay nothing. Isn’t there a fair share for people who have modest incomes?”
Why yes retired Army Colonel Allen Wild, lets have a ‘Great Nation’ where those who have little, have even less. Where if you’re poor, those who aren’t poor, demand you pay.
My Mom is 95. And YOU, retired Army Colonel Allen Wild want her to PAY taxes.
What a great American you are retired Army Colonel Allen Wild.
FAIRFAX, Va. — ‘If President Obama wins re-election on Tuesday, retired Army Colonel Allen Wild knows exactly who blame: “the 47 percent.” Not the leaked video of Republican nominee Mitt Romney claiming that 47 percent of Americans will vote for Obama because they are dependent on government’.
“The takers,” Wild explained to TPM at a Romney rally on the final day of the campaign Monday here at George Mason University. “Those who pay no income tax.”
Some rally attendees summed up this theory more succinctly. As Carlos Cerball, 72, said, “I’m not comfortable that he’s a socialist,” referring to Obama.
“I’m not a socialist,” Anna-Maria Kennedy, 48, said. A homemaker who grew up in Greece, Kennedy says Greece is “where America will be if we don’t change things quick.”

What a wonderful America Mitt Romney and the ‘new’ Republican party will bring.
Frist you try to restrict voters from voting and then you profit off of a ‘free press’ that wants to cover you.
Can you imagine what a press conference at the White House would have been like under a Mitt Romney Presidency?
Each member of the press corps would have to cough up $1000 just to sit in the room.
Want to actually ask a question?
Another $1000.
BOSTON — ‘The campaign of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney appears to be setting a precedent this election year in charging journalists and news organizations for any access to a presidential campaign headquarters on the night of the election’.
Romney will be holding his election night gathering at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, where access costs anywhere from $75 for a chair in the ballroom to $1,020 for permission to use the media filing center’.
‘Broadcast news organizations will be paying up to $6,500 for workspace’.
‘Obama’s campaign party will be held at McCormick Place, in Chicago, and although his campaign is charging for premiums, credentialed reporters are granted access, which includes a workstation, electrical power and a wireless Internet connection, at no cost’.
‘Romney spokesman Ryan Williams confirmed on Monday that there was indeed no way to cover the event unless paying for facilities’.
“As a reporter, you need to pay for access to the filing center if you want to cover (the event),” Williams said, confirming there was no access for credentialed media otherwise.
‘Al Tompkins, who teaches online and broadcast journalism the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla., said that restricting reporters’ access to an event based on a paywall is “outrageous.”
“If you’re going as a journalist and need access to infrastructure, such as electricity, special lighting, etc., it makes sense that you pay your way. They are incurring a cost for that and you should have to pay as you would in any other situation,” Tompkins said. “But if you aren’t using anything at all, and are just looking to report from inside the building, there is no reason a credentialed member of the press should have to pay. This is paying for access to a story.”
‘Obama’s campaign set the precedent of charging for modern technological hookups and accommodations in 2008, although credentialed media interested in simply covering the event were allowed in without a fee, as is the case with his election night party this year’.
‘Tompkins said that the precedent of charging for access to events could seriously hamper journalism moving forward by restricting smaller news organizations, which may not have large corporate backing, from political events’.
“This just seems indefensible to me. Even the Super Bowl doesn’t charge like this,” he said. “The only place you see this kind of thing is presidential politics. It may be a way to cut out the smaller news outlets altogether.”
