8 years ago, Huckabee could easily have had the Republican nomination and made a very good run at President. Pre teabag, Huckabee was seen as a moderate.
Now?
Just sad………
‘Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said last week that he never supported or defended Josh Duggar after allegations surfaced in May that the former reality TV star had molested his sisters as a teenager’.
“I really didn’t support Josh,” Huckabee told Iowa radio host Simon Conway on Dec. 23. “I supported his parents, if you’ll go back and look at what I said. There’s no support for what he did.”
Mike, Mike, Mike. Have you heard of the internet? Youtube? Soundcloud?
‘Huckabee in May’:
“Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable.’”
The United States is the only industrialized Nation that does not…..NOT have a Universal Health Care.
We have the Affordable Care Act with HELPS provide health care to the poor, middle class and improved the quality of standards insurance companies had to comply with for everyone.
But Republicans – Mike Huckabee – says health care is, and I quote – “an out-of-control act of judicial tyranny.”
Mike Huckabee – “As President, I will protect Medicare, repeal ObamaCare, and pass real reform that will actually lower costs, while focusing on cures and prevention rather than intervention,” Huckabee said. “The status quo is unfair, unaffordable, unsustainable, and completely un-American.”(1)
Mike Huckabee on health care : “If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague”.
“Guaranteed medical care to all citizens is not a responsibility of state government”.
‘Gov. Huckabee hypothesized, “Of those 47 million uninsured, 1/3 don’t have it because they are self-insured. Another 1/3 don’t have it because they think they’re healthy and invincible. There is 1/3 that don’t have it because they can’t afford it.”
‘We asked Huckabee’s campaign how he knew that 1/3 thought they were “invincible,” but we’ve received no response. We can find no studies that support the “invincibility” theory. [The closest is that] about 3 million people are uninsured because they decline available workplace health insurance’.
‘Huckabee also errs in claiming that only 1/3 can’t afford insurance. About 2/3 of the uninsured are considered low-income families. Huckabee would be correct to say that 1/3 of the nonelderly uninsured are living below the poverty level’.
‘Huckabee’s claim that 1/3 of the uninsured are self-insured is a meaningless statement. In fact, anyone without health insurance must rely on their own resources to pay medical bills. That’s what being self-insured means

‘Yesterday, Mike Huckabee chatted with Iowa radio host Steve Deace and Religious Right organizer Bob Vander Plaats, who led Huckabee’s 2008 campaign in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, about the Supreme Court’s upcoming ruling on gay marriage’.
‘He said that if elected president, he would simply ignore any Supreme Court decision in favor of marriage equality until Congress passed legislation legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide…which he would then veto’.
“There can be no surrender on the point of the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage,” Huckabee said, claiming that the ruling “goes to the heart of who we are as Americans and whether or not religious liberty lives or dies.”
He vowed not to “surrender to a tyranny that frankly would defy everything we are as a country,”lamenting that even people who went to law school have decided to “acquiesce to this judicial supremacy.”
Did he announce yet? It’s hard keeping track of who has and hasn’t.
But this is the final nail in his coffin.
I’m taking him off of the Clown Car list as no one…..NO ONE is going to vote for some one who supports and defends child molesters – well except for the religious zealots.
‘Mike Huckabee has a child molester problem — which is something that, perhaps, cannot be said for any other 2016 GOP presidential candidate’.
‘Even after Josh Duggar admitted to molesting five children (one of whom was five years old) — four of them his sisters, one of them the babysitter — Huckabee remained stalwart in his support of Josh Duggar and his family’.
‘John Perry, a man who co-authored many of Huckabee’s books, has also been accused of child molestation — two separate times’.
‘Buzzfeed reports that a 2012 investigation found that “the allegations of sexual battery” against children “were sustained,” but as was the case with Duggar, the statute of limitations had expired’.
“The alleged sexual battery was reported to have occurred when the victim was between the ages of 11 and 14,” Nashville police department spokesperson Don Aaron told BuzzFeed’.
So……the same time he was co-writing with Huckabee…..he was molesting an 11 year old girl .
Nice friends you have Huckabee…..
‘Catherine Davis, wife of Austin Davis, also confirmed that Perry confirmed the abuse occurred numerous times. According to Davis, the accuser spoke out in 2007 and began telling “friends, family members, church leaders, and school officials about what had allegedly occurred.”
‘Buzzfeed lists just some of Huckabee’s works with which Perry was involved’:

‘Fox News has decided that Mike Huckabee should not be the Republican nominee, so Chris Wallace went on the attack against Huckabee’s flat tax plan on Fox News Sunday’.
‘A recent study by Bruce Bartlett revealed that Fox News is harming the Republican Party by brainwashing their viewers. Fox News is trying to turn their viewers against the flat tax, which is a way of making sure that the presidential campaigns of Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, and Ben Carson go absolutely nowhere’.
‘In other words, Fox News tried to kill Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign today’.
CHRIS WALLACE: “You want to abolish the income tax. You want to abolish the IRS and create a fair tax, which as you say is a national sales tax, but critics say the problem with that is that it’s too regressive. The Tax Policy Center said this, that “the average rate for the lowest income group would exceed 33% while the average rate for the top group would fall to less than 16%.” The argument, Governor, is that the rich, who spend less of their income, are going to end up making out pretty well on this, and the poor, who spend almost all of their income, are going to end up paying the most or at least the highest percentage”.
MIKE HUCKABEE: “They have it exactly wrong. In fact, it is the bottom third of the economy who benefit the most from the fair tax, and the people at the top third of the economy benefit the least. Although, everybody benefits some. That tax study is one that has been discredited”.
This is just a blatant lie. A National Flat Tax Sales Tax would kill poor and middle class people.
WALLACE: “Sir, doesn’t it just stand to reason that if I make five thousand dollars, I am going to spend a larger percentage of my income just for the necessities than if I make a million dollars I’m probably not going to spend as much of a percentage of my income because I’ve got more money”.
‘Wallace followed up by going after Huckabee for his suggestion that if he is elected president he would not follow Supreme Court ruling that he disagreed with’.
This, this protecting a child molester, just lost Huckabee Iowa, Hew Hampshire, South Carolina……well every State.
You don’t run around screaming everyone is a sinner and then protect a child molester.
After all, Josh had ‘confessed’ and been forgiven for molesting his sisters and other young girls.
So you don’t really need the police records – in fact it protects the young girls.
‘According to the Associated Press’ :
“Springdale police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn’t return a request for comment on Friday”.
“The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record,” Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. “As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned, this report doesn’t exist.”
‘Huckabee even referenced the judge’s order in his Facebook post yesterday’.
Every day there are story after story of ‘accidental’ gun shootings.
Guns do not fire ‘accidentally’.
Guns fire because some one who doesn’t know how to use a gun…..is using it.
Usually ‘playing’ or ‘showing’ it.
‘At a campaign stop at an Iowa gun range yesterday, Mike Huckabee dismissed concerns about lax state requirements for gun permits, saying he wasn’t very worried about a permit-holder “not being as trained as they could be” because “a good guy armed is still better than a good guy unarmed.”
‘A reporter attending the event at Crossroads Shooting Sports in Johnston, Iowa, asked Huckabee to comment on laws in Iowa that make it “relatively easy to get your permit to carry” without “actual hands-on training.”
“You know, I leave that to the states,” Huckabee said. “[I have] less worry about someone not being as trained as they could be, because I think ultimately a citizen who is going to arm themselves is going to want to avail themselves of significant training to become proficient. I mean, that just makes sense, for their own sake. But if they don’t, a good guy armed is still better than a good guy unarmed.”

The ‘You people elected me to one office but I want another while you pay me for the one I don’t want’ is a win.
Depends on if and how he backs off some of teh Bible thunping, he may in a month take and hold the lead in the Republican Primaries.
‘Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s opponents in the race for the White House who are senators should either resign or drop out of the contest, he said on “Good Morning America” today’.
“If a person has a job that the taxpayers are paying for, shouldn’t that person do that job?” Huckabee, a Republican who said Tuesday he was running for president, told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on “GMA.”
“I just believe it’s a matter of integrity to say, ‘I don’t want this job that I just got elected to, I think I want another job,’” he said. “OK, then resign the job … you have, and go out there and seek the one you want.”
