Earth – ‘What you need to know about the supermoon lunar eclipse’

‘Because a lot of light scatters off the Earth’s atmosphere, the moon will not look completely dark but have a coppery red color — hence the blood moon moniker’.

‘What’s actually happening is a confluence of three things. The moon will be full and in its closest point in its orbit around the Earth, making it a so-called supermoon’.

‘Supermoons appear 14% larger and 33% brighter than other full moons’.

‘In addition to this, a lunar eclipse will occur. In other words, the Earth will line up directly with the sun and moon, directly between the two, so the “moon will completely fall in the shadow of the Earth.”

JEB! Making Up Fake Realities – ‘Jeb Says Ignore Pope On Climate Because He’s ‘Not A Scientist’… Pope Has Degree In Science’

jeb bush climate

JEB! (Don’t Call Him Bush) :

““The way you create a focus on protecting the natural environment and the creatures that are divinely inspired – which is the pope’s view, he’s not a scientist, he’s a religious leader – is to create economic growth to generate revenues to be able to help people.”

  • Jeb Bush graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Latin American studies’.

The Pope :

“Any harm done to the environment … is harm to humanity,” Francis said after noting that the environment holds intrinsic rights of its own.

“We human beings are part of the environment. We live in communion with it, since the environment itself entails ethical limits which human activity must acknowledge and respect.”

“The ecological crisis, and the large-scale destruction of biodiversity, can threaten the very existence of the human species.”(2)

  • ‘Pope Francis has a background in science, holds a degree in a scientific field, and worked in a chemistry lab before joining the Church’.

Earth – ‘We’re Aiming At 200 Feet Or More Of Sea Level Rise: Here’s What That Looks Like’

I’ll be long dead before this happens and I have no children so whatever the rest of you want to do to the o-n-l-y home you have… your choice.

‘James Hansen and 16 leading climate experts — including some of the world’s foremost authorities on Antarctic melt and sea level rise — warned in July we face “sea level rise of several meters in 50, 100 or 200 years,” which means as early as this century but in any case, sooner than expected’.

‘They also warn that even with the less than 1°C of warming we already have, ice sheet melt appears to be putting sea level rise on an exponential growth path that would bring 10 feet of sea level rise sooner, rather than later — even if we stabilize at 2°C total warming’.

‘The science has made clear for a long time that we don’t need to burn anywhere close to all of the world’s fossil fuels to have beyond-catastrophic sea level rise’.

‘A March 2012 National Science Foundation news release on paleoclimate research warned, “Global Sea Level Likely to Rise as Much as 70 Feet in Future Generations.”

‘The lead author pointed out, “The natural state of the Earth with present carbon dioxide levels is one with sea levels about 70 feet higher than now.”

‘A 2009 paper in Science concluded that when CO2 levels were this high 15 million years ago, it was 5° to 10°F warmer and seas were 75 to 120 feet higher’.

Earth – Around The Web – ‘New Horizons – Pluto Fly By By’

Published on Aug 31, 2015
“Fly By By,” an educational parody of NSync’s “Bye Bye Bye,” was created by the interns of Johns Hopkins APL’s Space Exploration Sector. It is a tribute to the historic Pluto fly by made by NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft on July 14, 2015, and to the scientific and engineering achievements of the mission. The lyrics and scenes in this video have been re-imagined in order to inform the public about the Pluto fly by and New Horizons mission.

New Horizons is part of NASA’s New Frontiers Program, managed by the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

APL designed, built, and operates the New Horizons spacecraft and manages the mission for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.

For students interested in internship opportunities within APL’s Space Exploration Sector:…

Nine years to see the sight,
At the edge of our sun’s starlight,
Surprise us you just might
New Horizons come on

Pluto’s secrets held so dear,
Composition and atmosphere,
But now the time is here and the power is on.

I know that you can go explore,
Up in the sky,
You want to see KBOs some more,
Pluto fly by, by.
Fly by.

LORRI got some pics of you,
PEPSSI snapped an AWOL ion or two,
Uncover secrets such as when, where, why,
Pluto Fly by, by
Fly by.

We found Pluto has a heart of gold
And a young surface that’s very cold
It might sound crazy,
But it ain’t no lie,
Pluto fly by, by.

Tombaugh had you in his sight,
Now he’s passed you on a flight.
3.7 billion miles
Pluto come on

In CU Boulder we trust,
That SDC would count the dust,
And Pluto will be much clearer
Once you’re gone.

I know that you can go explore,
Up in the sky,
You want to see KBOs some more,
Pluto fly by by.
Fly by.

LORRI got some pics of you
False color split that heart into two
Uncover secrets such as when, where why,
Pluto fly by by.
Fly by.

APL has got a stellar crew,
It’s got the right tech and people too (ooh, ooh).
It’s not crazy,
And it ain’t no lie,
Pluto fly by by.

Alan Stern is rockin’ the show,
He started preparations 14 years ago.
Fly by.

Don’t give up,
Don’t be signin’ off,
As explained by superstar Shia Labeouf
(Just Do It)

There wasn’t any sway or swerve,
As it observed,
What used to be number 9!
Fly by by

We are making history (history)
And let’s all decree,
What was said by our friend Bill Nye.

Take your mark, get to the gates,
An all new era of exploration awaits (We’re making history)
And it ain’t no lie
Pluto fly by by.

It went fast,
Data’s coming in hot.

Exploring space with only 200 watts

Signal ain’t hazy

Pluto don’t be shy

Fly By Bye

‘NASA-supported researchers have found that ice covering
Greenland is melting faster than previously thought. The
action is happening out of sight, below the surface’.

Earth – In My Back Yard – ‘Northern Washington Wildfire Fly Through 8-28-2015 @ 2:00AM PDT’

5th Dimensional Earth

Yesterday when I was checking the air quality before going out and mowing the lawn, I noticed that the town of Nespelem had and Air Quality Index (AQI) of 500.
Bacisly if you went out side – you couldn’t breathe.

On and FYI, the middle of August is the START of our fire season……..

Like today – high winds expected – gusts up to 65mph – all over the fire area.

And again a great big thank you to Republicans especially our very own wonderful US Representative Cathy Dumber Then A Pile Of Rocks McMorris Rodgers for voting in the budget to cut funding for wild fire fighting.

It turns out this is the worst wild fire season on record so thanks for cutting the funding.

Earth – ‘Humanity exceeds nature’s budget for 2015’

earth humanity exceeds

In less than eight months, humanity has used up nature’s budget for the entire year, according to data from Global Footprint Network’.

‘Earth Overshoot Day – this year falling on August 13marks the date when humanity’s annual demands on nature exceed what Earth can regenerate in that year, and has moved up from early October in 2000′.

‘The costs of ecological overspending are becoming more evident by the day, in the form of deforestation, drought, freshwater scarcity, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon sequestration makes up more than half of the demand on nature’.

Humanity’s carbon footprint alone more than doubled between 1961 and 1973, which is when the world went into ecological overshoot. It remains the fastest growing component of the widening gap between the Ecological Footprint and the planet’s biocapacity,” said Mathis Wackernagel, President of Global Footprint Network’.

Earth – ‘The Wettest Rainforest in the United States Has Gone Up in Flames’

‘When fire can eat a rainforest in a relatively cool climate, you know the Earth is beginning to burn’.

  • ‘The wettest rainforest in the continental United States had gone up in flames
and the smoke was so thick, so blanketing, that you could see it miles away’.

‘Deep in Washington’s Olympic National Park, the aptly named Paradise Fire, undaunted by the dampness of it all, was eating the forest alive and destroying an ecological Eden’.

‘In this season of drought across the West, there have been far bigger blazes but none quite so symbolic or offering quite such grim news’.

‘It isn’t the size of the fire (though it is the largest in the park’s history), nor its intensity’.

  • ‘It’s something else entirely—the fact that it shouldn’t have been burning at all’.

‘When fire can eat a rainforest in a relatively cool climate, you know the Earth is beginning to burn’.
