Building On The Reason For Donald Trump To Resign – ‘Who Told Flynn to Call Russia’?

“the truth fears no questions…..” – Might want to tell Donald Trump that.

February 16, 2017 By Taegan Goddard

‘Daniel Benjamin’:

“As official Washington and the press home in on the permanent disarray in the White House, whether the disgraced Flynn broke the law and who will succeed him after his three-week tenure, the key question is getting lost in the shuffle: Who told Flynn to call Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States? Because I’m convinced Flynn didn’t do it of his own accord. Flynn is a bit player in a much larger story regarding the president’s relationship with the Kremlin, and it’s this story the press needs to focus on.”

—Daniel Benjamin is an American diplomat and journalist, and was the Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the United States Department of State from 2009 to 2012, appointed by Secretary Clinton. He is Director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College.—

  1. Yup. That IS the question.

  2. There is also a possibility that no one told Flynn to call the Russian ambassador. This is a guy who has much stronger connections with Russia (or simply more apparent) than Trump – they don’t sit just any American next to Putin, and I think his previous career shows Flynn isn’t much of a team player. So he could have called Kislyak on his own just because had prior acquaintance with him.
My money’s though still on Trump asking Flynn to make the call.

    • I don’t discount that at all. Flynn has that type of personality that he will go rogue.
But I can’t find anything where he has since joining the Trump team.
He does have extra close ties to Putin. I’ve watched the film where he is seated at Putin’s table and other times. He has more face time with Putin then even Tillerson.
But I think Trump, not knowing about what sanctions are in place let alone what they do, used Flynn as a ‘spearhead’.
We need to see the transcripts and the Repubs are already saying it’s ‘classified’ without even knowing what’s on them.

  3. What was not discussed after the inane press conference yesterday was DT saying even though he did not tell Flynn to call, he did nothing wrong and would have told him to do so. This is a crime for a citizen to negotiate with a foreign government on behalf of ours. So, yes he did something wrong and DT said he would have advised him to do something wrong.
