Donald Trump’s Corruption Of America – ‘Trump Plans to Keep Stake In Businesses

1chiold

‘President-elect Donald Trump “is considering formally turning over the operational responsibility for his real estate company to his two adult sons, but he intends to keep a stake in the business and resist calls to divest,” the New York Times reports’.

‘“Under a plan now being considered by the Trump family and its lawyers, Ivanka Trump, Mr. Trump’s elder daughter, would also take a leave of absence from the Trump Organization, in the surest sign that she is exploring a potential move to Washington with her husband, Jared Kushner. Mr. Kushner is discussing an as-yet undetermined role advising his father-in-law, and Ms. Trump plans on being an advocate on issues in which she has a personal interest, like child care.”(1)

I wonder what the ‘child care’ programs are in the sweat chops Ivanka uses to make her clothing line are like?

‘But the two programs Trump cited — “Trump Kids” and “Trumpeteers” — are programs catering to patrons of Trump’s hotels and golf club. They are not for Trump’s employees, according to staff at Trump’s hotels and clubs across the country’.

A collection of Trump employee handbooks makes no mention of child care. The online Trump Hotels “employee benefits” section lists health care, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, complimentary golf and an internet café, but no on-site child care services.(2)

Donald Trump –
“You know, it’s not expensive for a company to do it. You need one person or two people, and you need some blocks, and you need some swings and some toys,” Trump said. “It’s not an expensive thing, and I do it all over. And I get great people because of it. Because it’s a problem with a lot of other companies.”

‘Trump pointed specifically to two programs: “They call ’em Trump Kids. Another one calls it Trumpeteers, if you can believe it. I have ’em. I actually have ’em, because I have a lot of different businesses.”

‘Trump went on to describe “a room that’s a quarter of the size of this. And they have all sorts of — you know, it’s beautiful — they have a lot of children there, and we take care of them. And the parent when they leave the job — usually in my case it’s clubs or hotels — when they leave the job, they pick up their child and their child is totally safe.”

“They even come in during the day during lunch to see their child. It really works out well,” he said.

  1. My guess all along is he will do it his way, like he always does, until he is legally told he cannot. It would not surprise me for him to leverage his position to make more money for himself, which likely was a motivation for his running in the first place – he just did not expect to win.

    • He has already taken the ‘a President can’t have a conflict of interest’ much as Nixon said a President can’t do anything illegal.
There are no laws regarding a President owning a business.
The real corruption will be the prior knowledge his sons and daughter have and the influence on and how it will reflect on profits.

    • And when Trump is ever told that legally, he can’t do something, chances are that he’ll say, “I’m the president and I can do whatever I want”, and would go right ahead.
