The Blockade Against Nestle and the California Drought

John Hively's Blog: News and Analysis of the War Against the Middle Class

“California may run out of water by as early as 2016, according to NASA senior scientist Jay Famiglietti. While cities across the state have started rationing, Nestle continues to bottle 400 millions gallons annually, mostly for sale out of state.” In response, on March 20, outraged residents formed a blockade outside Nestle’s Sacramento bottling plant to shut down operations. The corporate propaganda machine dutifully kept the news under wraps.

Nestle is the largest US food company operating in the United States. The company’s bottled water may be the only produces it produces, although it doesn’t produce the water, that doesn’t have genetically modified poisons in them.

The Thought For Today

“All it takes is one good guy with a gun…..” – ‘NRA’s Latest Win: Kansas Gov. Signs Law Allowing Concealed Carry Without Permits’

gun nuts8

‘Concealed carry with no permits…What could
possibly go wrong’?

‘In yet another huge win for the NRA, Kansas
Gov. Sam Brownback just signed a bill into law
that allows concealed carry without permits or
training. But, of course Brownback calls
concealed carry “constitutional carry” because
it sounds a lot more patriotic’.

‘Brownback paid the usual lip service to the
importance of training, and even mentioned how
his son just took a hunting safety course’.

“It was an excellent course. He got a lot out
of it. I got a lot out of it. And I want to
urge people to take advantage of that.”

  • ‘But of course Brownback would never sign a
law that actually requires training, because a
gun nut’s right to carry trumps every one
else’s right to not get shot’.

“We’re saying that if you want to do that in
this state, then you don’t have to get the
permission slip from the government,”
Brownback said’.

  • “It is a constitutional right,
and we’re removing a barrier to that right.”

Debunking The Republican Liars – ‘Exclusive: Republican White House hopefuls attack Obamacare but take money’

Governor Scott Walker.
Governor Chris Christie.
Governor Bobby Jindal.
Governor Rick The Dick Perry.

All thre scream about how bad Obamcare is.

  • All four have collectivey applied for and received over $352 million dollars in grants from Obamacare.

‘Governors Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Chris Christie of New Jersey, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and former Texas Governor Rick Perry, all staunch opponents of President Barack Obama’s 2010 Affordable Care Act, have collectively applied for and won at least $352 million through grant programs set up by the law, federal records show’.

‘Aides to Walker, Christie and Perry either declined to comment or didn’t respond. A Jindal aide said these programs would work better if states were given more discretion over how to spend federal money’.

How Republicans Will Govern…..Not Show Up For Hearings – ‘Cruz MIA at Armed Services hearings’

ted cruz misses hearings

And he wants to be President…….

Ted Cruz thunders about what he calls a “fundamentally unserious” U.S. defense policy, but when he had a chance to weigh in during Senate Armed Services Committee hearings, he rarely showed up’.

‘Cruz, who announced last week he’s running for president, has the committee’s worst attendance record — by far’.

The Texas Republican attended just three of the panel’s 16 public hearings so far this year, according to a POLITICO review of transcripts from full committee hearings’.

‘The average committee member attended 13 of the 16 hearings, and Cruz is the only one of the panel’s 26 members with an attendance rate below 50 percent’.
