Do Republicans Simply Just Hate ALL Government? – ‘Ted Cruz Makes Impassioned Plea For Repeal Of Federal Legislation That Does Not Exist’

ted cruz3

‘Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is known for waging political battles even if the odds of success are slim’.

‘He famously launched a 21-hour filibuster in a failed, last-ditch effort to repeal Obamacare’.

‘But his latest crusade may be his biggest challenge yet: repealing a federal law that does not exist’.

‘On Twitter, Cruz blasted the federal government role in education and called for the repeal of Common Core’:

Federal govt has no business sticking its nose in education. We need to repeal every word of Common Core! #nhpolitics #MakeDCListen

  • ‘It will be particularly hard since Common Core is not, in fact, a federal law’.

‘The Common Core State Standards Initiative, known as Common Core, was developed by the states — with input from teachers, education experts and business leaders — and has been voluntarily adopted by 43 states and the District Of Columbia’.

‘Notably, “the federal government played no role in creating the standards, nor did it require that states adopt them.”

Republicans Plan For America – Rule By FEAR – ‘Tom Cotton calls for defense spending boost’

tom cotton

‘Tom Cotton has a simple message for Barack
Obama: You’re doing it all wrong’.

‘While Obama has proposed raising spending on
defense to $534 billion and Sen. John McCain
(R-Ariz.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.) advocated a
budget of $577 billion, Cotton said the U.S.
needs north of $611 billion to manage a world
he said had “grown gravely darker” since Obama
took office’.

‘Beginning his speech by quoting Winston
Churchill’s remarks from 1933, Cotton drew
parallels between the current world order and
Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in Germany: “[W]e
alone are growing weaker while every other
nation is growing stronger.”
