The event, organized by the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, “is an opportunity for community members to learn about the democratic political process and how to be an advocate for important issues,” according to CAIR’s website’.
‘But attendees had to make their way past a small but vocal band of anti-Islamic protesters hijacking the event to protest all things Muslim’.
‘Once they’d navigated their way past that bigoted hollering, even greater levels of bigotry awaited them’.
‘In a self-professed attempt to intimidate, their elected representative Molly White draped an Israeli flag over her desk and called for visiting Muslims to pledge allegiance to America before it’.
