‘Anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy resurfaced this week in a bizarre campaign ad for a far-right Black Nevada congressional candidate, with both men challenging Attorney General Eric Holder to a debate about racial issues in America’.
“This is one white man who’s not scared to talk about race,” Bundy says in the ad for Independent American Party candidate Kamau Bakari. “I dare you to come to Las Vegas and talk to us.”

‘It didn’t make any sense. Jennifer Odom’s daughter shouldn’t have gotten anything in the mail, let alone a voter registration form’.
“It was disturbing for a couple of reasons,” said Odom. “First, Samantha would only be four-and-a-half years old. So it’s a far cry from the age of voting. Secondly, she passed away two years ago.”
‘Odom says her daughter died on Sept. 11, 2012′.
“That’s right about the time we started getting these notices,” said Odom’.
‘It turns out that AFP has sent hundreds of thousands of these error-ridden, confusing voter registration forms in North Carolina, and both local elections offices and the state board of elections have been swamped with phone calls from confused voters’.

DECATUR – ‘It’s not uncommon for residents such as Maryilynn Baer to receive political mail before the general election’.
‘But when recent letter came to her home that asked for her husband, Edgar, to re-register to vote before the November election, Baer was overwhelmed and upset’.
Her husband had been dead since May.
“It was upsetting,” she said. “His name had already been taken off the voter registration list, and I sent the letter to (Macon County Clerk) Steve Bean and told him I had already notified him that Edgar had passed away.”
‘See, the mailer made it seem like it had one from County Clerk Bean’.
‘All over the state, people have been calling their county clerks to find out if they really do have to re-register, because all of the mailings from AFP are meant to look like they’re coming from elections officials’.
‘They’re also wondering why their dead relatives are getting these letters, because they’re going to a lot of deceased people’.
‘This is how they do it’.
‘Peel off a few votes here, and a few there’.
‘Send some fraudulent, official-looking forms out with incorrect dates to dead people, whatever’.
‘They might be caging, which is the act of sending mailings out to see what comes back, so they can challenge voters at the ballot box’.

‘That vacancy has become a central focus in the last week as government officials and medical professionals try to calm the public about the spread of Ebola’.
‘On Sunday, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd asked Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) about the NRA’s role in blocking Murthy’s confirmation, but the Republican senator dismissed the question outright’.
‘Blunt blamed the vacancy on President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), who has yet to put Murthy’s nomination to a full vote, and dismissed questions about the National Rifle Association’s efforts to block the nominee’.
“The NRA said they were going to score the vote and suddenly everybody froze him,” said Chuck Todd. “That seems a little petty in hindsight, does it not?”
“Well, the president really ought to nominate people that can be confirmed to these jobs, and frankly then we should confirm them, there’s no question about that,” replied Blunt’.

‘The rest either sits idly in the bank or is long gone due to Palin’s personal expenses’.
“Out of $1.4 million the PAC had available in the third quarter — $978,000 sitting in the bank at the beginning of the July 1-Sept. 30 period, plus another more than $433,000 raised during that time — SarahPAC managed to donate just $45,000 to fellow Republicans running in the midterms. That’s a little more than 3 percent”.
‘So she isn’t helping real conservatives get to Washington, but she did help someone during these two years of free money: Sarah Palin’.

“What did SarahPAC spend most of its money on, then, in the third quarter”?
“Many of the same consultants she has used all along — for speechwriting, fundraising, logistics and research”.
“There’s even someone paid to consult on “coalitions.”
“Travel, presumably for Palin, is part of the equation; a PAC like this is useful for keeping a high profile nationally without having to pay those pesky airline and hotel tabs out of personal funds”.
“And the PAC sent $10,885 to HarperCollins — publisher of all three of Palin’s books — for “books for donor fulfillment.”
“That wasn’t the only book purchase by the committee: A lump sum of $13,000 was listed as being spent for “lodging, SUV rental, books for donors.”
“In other words, Palin’s political fund serves to exclusively promote all-things Palin”.
