When any one and over the last 6 years
Republicans/Conservatives have used alternative realities.
When you don’t have an intelligent, reasoned argument, you
create a new ‘reality’ in which you don’t have to have
intelligent or reasoned points.
FOX news creates are new ‘reality’ where there are no ‘assault
weapons’ so we don’t have to worry about guns.
The new Republican reality…….
‘While interviewing a gun store owner as part of a larger theme
of “Government is coming for your guns” round-the-clock scare
coverage, Fox News host Tucker Carlson unilaterally declared
the idea of “assault weapons” as imaginary’.
“We should be clear for our viewers that ‘assault weapon’ is a
made-up term and there really is no such thing as assault
weapon,” he clarified’.(2)
And in the real World……
‘Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994’
‘The federal assault weapons ban of 1994 (part of the Public
Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act) was
enacted in response to a mass shooting that occurred at a
California elementary school in 1989, which killed several
children and injured many more’.(1)

And the inncocent civilians that we ‘bomb back to the stone
age’ while trying to target on ISIS fighters?
Sucks to be them?
“Shock and Awe” is back, at least if Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has
‘In an interview with ABC News, the Tea Party back Republican
suggested that the best foreign policy for dealing with the
Islamic militant group ISIS was to launch and “overwhelming air
campaign” to “bomb them back to the Stone Age.”
“What we ought to do is have a direct, concerted, overwhelming
air campaign to take them out,” Cruz told ABC’s Jeff Zeleny in
an interview that was broadcast on Sunday’.
‘Cruz suggested that the bombing campaign could even extend
into Syria, but “the objective should not be to resolve the
civil war” in that country’.

‘Conservative pundit Erick Erickson guest hosted the Rush
Limbaugh show this week and it’s safe to say the hateful
hyperbole that Rush brings daily did not skip a beat in his
‘With proponents of a minimum wage increase arguing that the
average minimum wage employee in America is no longer a
pimply-faced high schooler or college student, Erickson
explained that the minimum wage doesn’t need to be raised
because those people “failed at life.”
“The minimum wage is mostly for people who failed at life and
high school kids,” Erickson said. “Seriously, look, I don’t
mean to be ugly with you people… If you’re a 30-something-
year-old person and you’re making minimum wage, you probably
failed at life.”
‘That’s a possibility’.
‘Another possibility is perhaps all the jobs in your area have
been shipped to China and India’.
‘Another possibility is that one president destroyed an entire
economy back in 2007-08 and the next president hasn’t done a
whole lot (and has been obstructed by Republicans) to bring
back those jobs’.
‘In fact, as Vox points out, more unemployed people have
stopped looking for work than have found a job in 49 of the
last 50 months. Recovery, indeed’.
‘But no, let’s ignore all of the facts and just assume those
people “failed at life.”
‘Erickson dismisses this idea entirely, saying, “It is not that
life dealt you a bad hand. Life does not deal you cards. It’s
that you failed at life.”

‘The Republicans just can’t stop being outraged because Obama
plays golf, despite the fact it is somewhat of a Presidential
‘Recently on Fox, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) even claimed that
because Obama keeps encouraging people to cross our southern
border illegally and going off to play golf, America is now at
risk of a nuclear attack’.
“This president has ignored the intent of enemies like ISIS to
exploit our porous border and if they ever gained the capacity
to hurt us, with Iran on the cusp of potentially gaining a
nuclear weapons capability, we could see a situation where
terrorists could gain access to nuclear weapons and the shadow
of nuclear terrorism could fall across this world,” he said’.
‘He apparently missed the national security memo that made it
clear that ISIS and Iran are sworn enemies’.
