Turn Kentucky Blue – ‘Caught on Tape: What Mitch McConnell Complained About to a Roomful of Billionaires’

turn kentucky blue2

‘At a secret meeting of elite donors convened by the Koch brothers, McConnell laid out his plan for shrinking the federal government and whined about having to vote on minimum wage bills’.

‘Two months ago, Mitch McConnell attended a secret strategy conference of conservative millionaire and billionaire donors hosted by the Koch brothers’.

‘The Nation and The Undercurrent obtained an audio recording of McConnell’s remarks to the gathering, called “American Courage: Our Commitment to a Free Society.”

‘In the question-and-answer period following his June 15 session entitled “Free Speech: Defending First Amendment Rights,” McConnell says:

“So in the House and Senate, we own the budget. So what does that mean? That means that we can pass the spending bill”.

“And I assure you that in the spending bill, we will be pushing back against this bureaucracy by doing what’s called placing riders in the bill”.

“No money can be spent to do this or to do that”.

“We’re going to go after them on healthcare, on financial services, on the Environmental Protection Agency, across the board (inaudible)”.

“All across the federal government, we’re going to go after it…”

“And we’re not going to be debating all these gosh darn proposals”.

“That’s all we do in the Senate is vote on things like raising the minimum wage (inaudible)—cost the country 500,000 new jobs; extending unemployment—that’s a great message for retirees; uh, the student loan package the other day, that’s just going to make things worse, uh”.

“These people believe in all the wrong things”.

Why America Is Failing – ‘6 numbers that tell you everything you need to know about America’s busted priorities’

‘Americans constantly hear about the threat of “entitlements,” which in the case of Social Security and Medicare are more properly defined as “earned benefits.”

‘The real threat is the array of entitlements demanded by the very rich. The following annual numbers may help to put our country’s expenses and benefits in perspective’.

wealth inequality10

$220 Billion: Teacher Salaries

‘According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there are just over 4 million preschool, primary, secondary, and special education school teachers in the U.S., earning an average of $54,740′.

$246 Billion: State and Local Pensions

wealth inequality22

‘Census data shows a total annual (2012) payout of about $246 billion. Only about $100 billion of this came from state and local governments, with the remainder funded by employee contributions and investment earnings. A recent Pew study showed a little over $100 billion in annual state contributions to pensions, health care, and non-pension benefits’.

$398 Billion: Safety Net

wealth inequality6

‘The 2013 safety net (non-medical) included the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC (Women, Infants, Children), Child Nutrition, Earned Income Tax Credit, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Education & Training, and Housing’.

$863 Billion: Social Security

wealth inequality5

‘Social Security is the major source of income for most of the elderly, and it is an earned benefit. As of 2010, according to the Urban Institute, the average two-earner couple making average wages throughout their lifetimes receive less in Social Security benefits than they paid in’.

Now – the Wealthy…….

$2,200 Billion: Tax Avoidance

wealth inequality7

That’s $2.2 trillion in tax expenditures, tax underpayments, tax havens, and corporate nonpayment. It is estimated that two-thirds of tax breaks accrue to the top quintile of taxpayers’.

$5,000 Billion: Investment Wealth

wealth inequality21

‘That’s $5 trillion dollars a year, the annual amount gained in U.S. wealth from the end of 2008 to the middle of 2013’.
‘Even though the whole country continued to grow in productivity, most of the new wealth went to the very richest people. According to Oxfam, the wealthiest one percent captured 95 percent of post-financial crisis growth since 2009, while the bottom 90 percent became poorer’.

WHAT THE F&^% WEDNESDAY – ‘Stories From The ‘religious’ Republican Freaks – ‘Conservative Candidate Accuses Gay Democratic Congressman Of Plotting To Behead Anti-Gay Christians’

former navy

‘A Republican candidate for the Colorado statehouse is claiming that he was just joking when he accused a gay Democratic congressman of plotting to behead Christians’.

Former Navy chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt sent out an email this past weekend asserting that Colorado Rep. Jared Polis would join ISIS to behead Christians in America who oppose same-sex marriage and LGBT rights’.

‘The email was sent out in the wake of video footage of James Foley being executed by Islamic extremists’.

The Former Navy Chaplin :

“The openly homosexual Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced a revised bill to force Christian employers and business owners to hire and promote homosexuals with ZERO RELIGIOUS EXEMPTIONS for Christians who want to opt out”.

“Polis ‘wants sexual orientation and gender identity treated the same way as race, religion, sex, and national origin, when it comes to employment protections, claims the Advocate, under the headline “Polis trims ENDA’s religious exemption”.

“Dr. Chaps’ comment: The open persecution of Christians is underway. Democrats like Polis want to bankrupt Christians who refuse to worship and endorse his sodomy. Next he’ll join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America.”

‘The email stirred outrage across the state and to their credit, Colorado Republicans quickly condemned Klingenschmitt and his words’.

‘But Klingenschmitt didn’t give a sincere apology’.

‘Instead, he claimed he was just using hyperbole and accused Democrats of not having a sense of humor in a video posted to Youtube on Monday. In short, the anti-gay conservative claimed his hateful comments were just a joke’.

“All it takes is one good guy with a gun…..” – ‘Loaded Gun Found In Kindergartner’s Backpack at Elementary School’

gun nuts20

When children start bring guns to school – because they are afraid someone at home will hurt themselves – it’s time to start regulating gun ownership.

‘Proving Republicans right once again that the U.S. doesn’t need any gun laws or to bother trying to enforce any sort of responsible gun ownership, a loaded gun was found in a kindergartner’s backpack at a Pittsburgh elementary School Monday morning’.

‘It was the 3rd day of the school year’.

‘Bob Allen from Pittsburgh’s local CBS channel KDKA reported that the boy brought the loaded .22 to Aliquippa Elementary School because he didn’t want anyone at his home to get hurt’.

“Sources tell KDKA’s Bob Allen that the boy said he brought the gun to school to get it out of his home, reportedly because he didn’t want anyone in his house to get hurt.”

  • ‘KDKA reported that student notified a teacher’,
  • ‘Who then secured the gun and contacted the principal and then the local police were called to the scene’.

Wait for it………

‘A note was sent home to parents’.

I don’t know. A ‘note’ seems like an over reaction…….

A frickin note was sent to the parents?

How about sending a couple of squad cars and arresting the parents?????

What kind of idiot – ‘plays’ with a gun in a car?????

Now a Responsible law would be if you handle an armed weapon in a moving vehicle – and it discharges – you lose your ‘right’ to ever own a agun again.

WEST JORDAN — ‘A woman is in fair condition after she was accidentally shot by a family member while in a car they were both traveling in, police say’.

‘Two women were traveling to a Taylorsville pawn shop to sell a gun’.

The 33-year-old female passenger sitting in the back seat was manipulating the gun and accidentally discharged it, shooting the 53-year-old front passenger in the back, according to Unified Police officer Jared Richardson’.

‘The 53-year-old woman suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries, Richardson said’.
