Ferguson – Is Apathy NOT Race the Problem?

fergerson

Only 1 in 6 Council members is black.

The Mayor is white.

The police chief is white.

Now there may very well be racial issues in the City Government and Police.

But why does a city that is 67% black vote for a white city government?

“This year, just 12.3 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot, according to numbers provided by the county. In 2013 and 2012, those figures were even lower: 11.7 percent and 8.9 percent respectively’.

“All it takes is one good guy with a gun…..” – ‘Woman Shoots 7-Year-Old Grandson She Believed Was An Intruder’

gun nuts14

‘A Florida woman shot her 7-year-old grandson on Tuesday when she believed she heard an intruder in a Tampa-area home, WPTV reported’.

‘Linda Maddox was babysitting her twin grandsons while their father worked a night shift, investigators said’.

‘She placed a chair against the door of the bedroom in which they were sleeping for protection, according to WPTV’.

‘Just before 1 a.m., Maddox heard the chair slide near the door. She thought it was an intruder and grabbed her loaded .22 caliber revolver from the bed’.

‘She fired a shot toward the door in the dark. She then heard screams from her grandson, Tyler Maddox’.

‘He was shot in the upper body and taken to a local hospital to be treated, according to WPTV. He is in critical, but stable condition’.

Why America Is Failing – The ‘(cough) ‘Free Press’ Edition – ‘Candidate Hurts Feelings Of Local TV Station, They Refuse To Cover Him’

free press

Chuck Todd would approve…….

‘Former NBC and CBS News correspondent Ed Rabel wrote in a 2013 Charleston (WV) Gazette opinion piece that the people in local TV news are “bubble-heads and glib, young, sometimes pretty know-nothings” who “wouldn’t know a news story if it slapped them in the face.”

“Station owners and managers forbid their news departments from stepping on toes and ruffling feathers, out of fear that such stories might insult local advertisers or offend politicians on whose toes reporters might stomp”.

“And investigative or original reporting is costly, meaning real reporters must be hired to do real reporting, a job that requires lots of time and money that the stations have no time for”.

‘Sixteen months after his op-ed was published, Rabel announced he was running for Congress as an independent in West Virginia’s second Congressional District’.

‘WCHS-TVnews director Matt Snyder apparently wasn’t ready to forgive Rabel for his TV news criticism, and ordered his staff to ignore the former journalist’s campaign, according to the Morgan County USA website’.

WHAT THE F&^% Wednesday – ‘Alabama Lawmaker: Proposed 10 Commandments Monument Has ‘Nothing To Do With Religion’

religious right

‘Alabama lawmaker announced Thursday his desire to erect a monument to the Ten Commandments at a county courthouse, arguing that the religious moral code deserves a memorial for “historical” reasons and that the proposal “has nothing to do with religion.”

WTF2

‘Tim Guffey, a Republican county commissioner in Jackson county, Alabama, told AL.com that he would like to create a monument to “historical documents” at a courthouse in downtown Scottsboro’.

‘The hypothetical monument would feature the Bible’s Ten Commandments beside reconstructions of the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence’.
