Watch as Fox and other conservative outlets purposely deflect or ignore this story.
What shall we do with the white people…again?
I ask that question when white men commit mass shootings. I ask that question when Right-wing domestic terrorists kill innocent people. It is unfortunate, that in the aftermath of Sunday morning’s murder spree by two white supremacists in Las Vegas, I am forced, once more, to ask said question.
Mass shootings by white men, as well as Right-wing domestic terrorism, have become events akin to those in the classic comedy Groundhog Day.
Unfortunately, there is nothing humorous or funny about how white Right-wing domestic terrorists have shot up Jewish community centers, planted bombs, seen a spike in their numbers since the election of Barack Obama, are coddled and encouraged by the Fox News echo chamber and the Republican Party, and now–with Tea Party regalia, Nazi bonafides…

America!! The Land Of Homophobic Bigots!!
Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz Cruz spoke at an anti-gay marriage rally on Thursday hosted by Steven Hotze, a controversial doctor who has told women that birth control would make them unappealing to men and has warned that equality for gays would be a stepping stone to child molestation.

The FOunding Fathers put a reference to religion, i.e. God, exactly twice.
Once in the First Amendment :
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”;
And then……Article 6, Section 3 :
“but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States”.
If you want to be a Christian, #1 read the Bible and actually follow the teachings of Jesus and #2 – be a Christian.
But keep your God out of OUR Government.

‘Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore made that claim at the Pierce County Prayer Breakfast in Tacoma, Washington in May while discussing the addition of “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance’.
‘The chief justice said Americans had forgotten that there was no comma between “one nation” and “under God” in the Pledge’.
“When we say the Pledge, we say ‘I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation’ and we pause,” he remarked. “They didn’t mean for us to pause, ladies and gentlemen, and that pause has cost us a lot.”

Justice Moore mentions Thomas Jefferson’s ‘bill for religious freedom’.
Jefferson makes very clear – God has nothing to do with our Government :
“no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer, on account of his religious opinions or belief, but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of Religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish, enlarge or affect their civil capacities.”

“It has cost a lot because we have forgotten that God is intimately connected with this nation,” Moore continued. “Without God there would be no nation. Without God there would be no freedom to believe what you want. That goes all the way back to people like Thomas Jefferson in his bill for religious freedom. He knew what it meant. He knew the limits of civil government, and he knew who gave us that freedom to believe what we want about God, but it comes from God.”
The Transportation budget is short.
So a normal person would say either raise taxes to pay for the shortfall or cut projects.
No.
Republicans are going to cut Saturday mail delivery in the US Postal Service – which has nothing to do with Transportation except that the Postal Service drives on roads – to pay for the Transportation shortfall.
So what happens next year on the Transportation budget?
It will be short again so do we now cut mail delivery on say Wednesday? The reasoning being that you get mail on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
And the year after?
Cut food stamps to pay for the Transportation shortfall?
But Cantor says there’s ‘misinformation’.
Robbing the Postal Service to pay for the Transportation budget is not ‘misinformation.
It’s stupid.
‘Republican leaders in the House last week announced plans to use about $15 billion they said could be saved from ending Saturday letter deliveries by the Post Office to pay for at least one year’s worth of transportation projects’.
‘The traditional source for transportation projects has been the federal gas tax, which is currently priced at 18.4 cents per gallon’.
‘The gas tax has not been increased since 1993, however, and currently brings in about $16 billion less than the current level of transportation spending approved by lawmakers in 2012′.
‘Cantor in a memo Friday, though, said House Republican leaders “firmly believe that this is the best way to ensure continued funding of highway projects in a fiscally responsible manner that implements a needed structural reform to a growing federal liability’.
“As you may be aware, as a result of lower than anticipated revenues into the Highway Trust Fund, the Trust Fund will require an additional transfer of funds prior to the August District Work Period,” he wrote to members of the House Republican Conference’.

Money before people.
Gee.
Tell me again which political party that reminds you of.
‘Billionaire rapes an underage child, gets a sentence that a teenager gets for shoplifting. That’s what some people like to call the “invisible hand” in economics’.
‘SC Johnson, the “family” company’s billionaire heir, Samuel Curtis Johnson III, who confessed to repeatedly sexually assaulting his teenage stepdaughter has received an outrageous prison sentence of only four months because the judge, Circuit Justice Eugene Gasiorkiewicz, feels that Johnson’s importance to the community is valued much higher than the dignity of his abused step-daughter’.
