Yes.
The teabaggers were actually planning on using women and children as human shields.
teabagger cowardice at it’s best……..
‘Allies of rancher Cliven Bundy were prepared to make as much of a media spectacle as possible if violence were to erupt, saying they would put women on the front lines in the event federal officials turned to deadly force’.
‘Former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack told Fox News Monday, as reported by the Blaze’:
“We were actually strategizing to put all the women up at the front. If they are going to start shooting, it’s going to be women that are going to be televised all across the world getting shot by these rogue federal officers”.

I can understand the right for someone to vote against raising the minimum wage…….but BANNING cities from passing higher wages?
BANNING cities from enacting PAID SICK days?
BANNING cities from VACATION REQUIREMENTS?
BANNING????
Did she BAN Corporations from giving out bonuses?
Did she BAN corporations from enacting sick day?
Did she BAN corporations from giving vacations?
Just BANNING the middle class…….
‘At a time when many states and cities are working passing minimum wage increases, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) has gone in the opposite direction and signed a law banning cities from passing higher wages. The bill also bans them from enacting paid sick days or vacation requirements’.
(Bloggers Note : I live in Washington State where we have the highest minimum wage in the Nation. The legislation was passed in 1998 and the minimum wage raises with inflation. Strangely NOT ONE of the things Governor Fallin says will happen – has happened in Washington State – in 15 years……)
‘Fallin said she signed the bill out of the worry that higher local minimum wages’
‘She warned that increasing the minimum wage “would require businesses to fire many of those part-time workers” and harm job creation’.

‘On Sunday, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) sought to advance the GOP’s rebranding effort among female voters by suggesting that Republicans have long “led the fight for women’s equality.”
‘The statement came just days after Republicans voted down the Paycheck Fairness Act and sought to downplay the problem of equal pay for equal work by suggesting that Democrats were using the issue to distract from Obamacare’.
‘Now three days later, a prominent member of the Republican movement further undermined the party’s campaign to appeal to women voters by suggesting that the current pay gap isn’t wide enough’.
‘Phyllis Schlafly — the founder of the Eagle Forum’ :
“Suppose the pay gap between men and women were magically eliminated. If that happened, simple arithmetic suggests that half of women would be unable to find what they regard as a suitable mate”.
“Obviously, I’m not saying women won’t date or marry a lower-earning men, only that they probably prefer not to. If a higher-earning man is not available, many women are more likely not to marry at all. […]”
“The best way to improve economic prospects for women is to improve job prospects for the men in their lives, even if that means increasing the so-called pay gap”.

Now remember…..this is the teabagger Republican Party that wants ‘small’ Government. They want Government ‘out of your life’…..unless your a woman.
‘Tennessee is poised to become the first state in the country to subject women to criminal assault charges if they use drugs during their pregnancy’.
‘Last week, both chambers of the state legislature passed Senate Bill 1391, which would ultimately allow the state to scrutinize miscarriages, stillbirths, and birth defects to try to determine if drugs played a role’.
‘Farah Diaz-Tello, a lawyer with the National Advocates for Pregnant Women’ :
“The law is so broad that it could lead to charges against a woman who drives recklessly, gets in an accident, and then loses pregnancy. It could also be used against women who try to self-induce abortions,” Diaz-Tello told the Daily Beast. “She becomes a criminal due to unlawful pregnancy loss.”

There is more to the op-ed but this one line pretty much summed it up…..
‘Because what the GOP needs is a humbling landslide defeat’.

¦ ‘For the last seven years, a debate has raged over the “carried interest” benefit taken by private equity and hedge fund executives. Instead of paying ordinary rates on much of their income — typically 35 percent for the highest bracket (39.6 percent for this tax year) — these executives pay the capital gains rate of 15 percent’.
¦ ‘If individual taxpayers are arrested, admit guilt and reach a civil settlement with the government, they cannot deduct the costs from their returns. But amazingly, a company is allowed to claim those costs as a business expense. JPMorgan Chase, for example, which has agreed to pay billions of dollars in fines for various transgressions, can deduct a large portion — and all the legal expenses — from its taxes’.
¦ ‘A tiny but symbolic loophole still persists. Companies that own aircraft can depreciate their planes more quickly than airlines — over five years instead of seven — and claim the deduction’.
¦ ‘A much larger loophole involves the deduction of executive stock options by the company issuing them. Inexplicably, many of Silicon Valley’s newest star companies will be able to shelter a large portion of their profits as a result. Citizens for Tax Justice estimated late last year that a dozen technology companies, including Twitter, LinkedIn and Priceline, “stand to eliminate all income taxes on the next $11.4 billion they earn — giving these companies $4 billion in tax cuts.”
