The father’s on medication.

The daughter lied.

And now a 17 year old boy is dead.

Yeah.

Guns keep us safe.

‘A Texas father shot and killed a teenage boy who he found in his daughter’s bedroom early Thursday morning’.

‘Harris County deputies said that the 16-year-old daughter snuck the 17-year-old boy into her bedroom. Her younger brother saw the boy, and notified the father’.

‘When the father asked about the boy, the girl reportedly claimed she did not know him. The man called 911, and then he got into an argument with the boy’.

‘The father said that he opened fire when the boy suddenly moved his hands’.

‘The 17-year-old boy died at the scene’.

‘According to The Houston Chronicle, the father complained that he was having panic attacks, and was taken to a nearby hospital. Deputies said that the man appeared to be on medication’.

  2. Bad home defense tactics on display here as well. No flashlight on hand to ID the target, no safe room retreat, no detention strategy.

Case has been referred to a grand jury. I’m curious as to what sort of liability the daughter would face. She had every opportunity to defuse the situation but chose not to.

    • Sadly your right.
The daughter is ultimately to blame as it was her actions and lack thereof that resulted in the young man being shot and killed.
That is something she will carry emotionally the rest of her life even if not legally.
And again kudos on highlighting the lack of defense and detention.
The first rule of shooting is if you don’t know your target – you don’t pull the trigger.
