13 – 3
Now comes the hard part. Following it up. But at least now there is a idea of what teams have accomplished in the off season and a direction they want to go.
THU, SEP 12
NY Jets at New England – Pick – New England
I’m sorry but I simply can’t pick the Jets to beat a team like New England – regardless of how poorly NE played last week.

San Francisco at Seattle – Pick – San Fran

Yes the rich in America get richer while they lay off thousands so they don’t have to pay for the workers to have health insurance.
The ‘Conservative’ vision for America.
– ‘Annie Lowrey charts the percentage of total income in the US going to earners in the top 10% and top 1%, noting that “top 10 percent of earners took more than half of the country’s total income in 2012, the highest level recorded since the government began collecting the relevant data a century ago.”
“The figures underscore that even after the recession the country remains in a new Gilded Age, with income as concentrated as it was in the years that preceded the Depression of the 1930s, if not more so.”
“More generally, richer households have disproportionately benefited from the boom in the stock market during the recovery… the richest 10 percent of households own about 90 percent of the stock.”

“It is difficult to understand how these companies can feel justified in demanding the importation of cheap labor with a straight face at a time when tens of millions of Americans are unemployed,” writes the Center for Immigration Studies, which strongly opposes the Senate Gang of Eight bill and similar measures. “The companies claim the bill is an ‘opportunity to level the playing field for U.S. employers’ but it is more of an effort to level the wages of American citizens.”
‘For example, Hewlett-Packard, whose Executive Vice President for Human Resources Tracy Keogh signed the letter, laid off 29,000 employees in 2012’.
‘In August of this year, Cisco Systems, whose Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kathleen Weslock signed the letter, announced plans to lay off 4,000 — in addition to 8,000 cut in the last two years’.
‘United Technologies, whose Senior Vice Pesident of Human Resources and Organization Elizabeth B. Amato signed the letter, announced layoffs of 3,000 this year’.
‘American Express, whose Chief Human Resources Officer L. Kevin Cox signed the letter, cut 5,400 jobs this year’.
‘Procter & Gamble, whose Chief Human Resources Officer Mark F. Biegger signed the letter, announced plans to cut 5,700 jobs in 2012’.

WASHINGTON, DC — ‘The first anniversary of the Benghazi tragedy was supposed to be the time for conservatives around the country to descend on the Capitol by the thousands, demanding that Congress reveal the truth’.
‘Less than one hundred bothered to show up’.

The teabagger fanatics at it again.
‘A revolt by tea party conservatives forced House GOP leaders on Wednesday to delay a vote on a temporary spending bill required to prevent a government shutdown next month’.
‘The conservatives are unhappy with a plan by GOP leaders to advance the measure through the House coupled with a provision to derail implementation of the new health care law but allow the Democratic Senate to send it on to the White House shorn of the “defund ‘Obamacare'” provision so long as there is a vote on it’.

The energy bill has bipartisan support.
So what does McConnell do?
He adds on an amendment to delay the individual mandate on Obamacare for 1 year.
Obamacare has nothing to do with energy.
It’s just Republicans doing anything to stop Democrats and especially President Obama from governing.
Senate Minority leader Republican Mitch McConnell just said ‘Screw You America’.
‘Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) wants to transform debate on energy efficiency legislation that launched Wednesday into a battle over Obamacare’.
‘McConnell filed an amendment Wednesday to delay the individual health insurance mandate for one year, and codify the Obama administration’s one-year delay of requirements that employers provide insurance’.
‘He plans to speak about the amendment on the floor Thursday morning, an aide said. The House passed legislation to delay the health coverage mandates in July’.
‘McConnell’s amendment is another sign that the efficiency legislation, which has bipartisan sponsorship and support, could face political headwinds as it becomes a platform for battles over controversial topics’.
‘The efficiency bill already stalled Wednesday when Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) blocked members from formally calling up amendments as he seeks a vote on a separate Obamacare-related measure’.

With more of the ‘Oh can’t the Republicans see what they are doing’ crap.
The Republicans knew and saw what they were doing after the 2008 election when instead of opening their Party to diversity – immigration, class warfare, wage disparity, marriage equality, women’s rights – they CHOOSE to open their Party to the extreme fringe Conservative elements in our society.
NRA. Birtherism. Older, white, angry men. Absolutism. Mitt Romney’s tossing aside of 47% of Americans.
I grew up in the 50’s in a Eisenhower Republican home.
THAT was ‘Conservative’.
Todays Republican Party is guided by a minority of fanatics.
Sarah Palin. Rush Limbaugh. Glenn Beck. Louie Gohmert. Ted Cruz. Sean Hannity. FOX ‘news.
It’s not just Obamacare.
Republicans in the House defunding PBS, Planned Parenthood, voting against Violence Against Women Act, defunding oversight to the SEC on Wall Street.
In the Senate, double, even triple the number of filibusters.
The Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell even had to filibuster one of his own filibusters.
And the rank and file of the Republican Party?
Our neighbors? Co workers? People we go to church with? Shop with? Parents of the kids our kids go to school with?
Living in fear of the tea party saying they aren’t ‘real’ Americans if they don’t go along.
Eisenhower and even Ronald Reagan would be so proud of you.
Where oh where is the mainstream Christian religious establishment calling out this hatred for another religion?
The silence from the so called ‘Christians’ in this Country is deafening.
‘Controversial Gainesville Pastor Terry Jones, known for his plans to publicly burn copies of the Muslim holy book, was arrested Wednesday with thousands of kerosene-soaked Qurans, authorities said’.
‘Jones, 61, was arrested on felony charges after a traffic stop near a pharmacy in Mulberry, a small town in Polk County, just before 5 p.m. He faces charges of unlawfully transporting fuel and openly carrying a firearm’.
