There is no reason to do this on a Monday as the NFL, always looking to expand on their revenue stream, has 1 or 2 games on Monday so….
Ended up watching about 20 minutes of football this weekend.
With the FEDEX Cup, the next 2 weekends are taken up with golf so have to wait for week 4 to catch any more.
But judging by so many so-so games this weekend – not going to waste too mush time watching over paid ‘stars’.
13 – 3 = 81%
Week 1 is usually easy picks but can also be useless. Preseason tells you nothing and the hype from ESPN or NFL Network is for selling ratings not giving factual info.
So a 13-3 week 1 is way above normal.
But I’ll take it.
THU, SEP 5
Baltimore at Denver – Pick – Denver – Win
The Ravens have decided not to repeat as Super Bowl Champs.
A lot of holes in…..well a lot of places.
Denver on the other hand is the cream of the AFC West.
peyton is on a mission to be the only QB to win a Super Bowl in both leagues.
And time is not on his side.
This year or no years……
SUN, SEP 8
Seattle at Carolina – Pick – Seattle – Win
New England at Buffalo – Pick – New England – Win
One ugly game. Will the NE receiversz get better as the year goes along?
Cincinnati at Chicago – Pick – Chicago – Win
Chicago looked good but so did Cinci. Two solid teams.
Miami at Cleveland – Pick – Miami – Win
Atlanta at New Orleans – Pick – New Orleans – Win
Atlanta was more physical but couldn’t shake off that 0-4 preseason.
Tampa Bay at NY Jets – Pick – Tampa Bay – Loss
Who’s the idiot that pushers the QB when he’s out of bounds so they tackon 15 yrds so the Jets can kick a field goal?
Tennessee at Pittsburgh – Pick – Tennessee – Win
A lot of problems with the Steelrs.
Minnesota at Detroit – Pick – Minnesota – Loss
Guess you need more then the best running back in the league.
Oakland at Indianapolis – Pick – Indy- Win
Kansas City at Jacksonville – Pick – KC – Win
KC is going to be a lot, lot better this year. But then again this was against the Jags.
Arizona at St. Louis – Pick – St Louis – Win
Green Bay at San Francisco – Pick – San Fran – Win
NY Giants at Dallas – Pick – NYG – Loss

‘Mr. Aaron Johnson was the Tea Party Patriot manning the booth’.
‘He consented to the interview and gave permission to use it at will’.
‘Mr. Johnson is passionate and I had the feeling he believes everything that he is saying. In speaking to him before the interview I found him to be a family man who loves his family and the fact that he was out there manning the booth alone, a hard worker’.
‘That said, Mr. Johnson showed a level of delusion I have not even seen in the ranking Tea Party leaders here in Kingwood, Texas’.
‘He believes the mere fact the President’s middle name is Hussein means that he is Muslim’.
‘(I should have asked him if given his name Aaron Johnson if his first name made him Hebrew and his last name made him Anglo Saxon)’.
‘Inasmuch as he believes in the superiority and mercy of the Christian religions, he says America should not intervene in Syria because one should allow the enemy to kill each other’.
‘Off camera he told me the president should be impeached’.
‘When I asked him why, he gave a dubious list of things the president did including the appointment of czars that his folks deemed unconstitutional. Suffice it to say when asked for specifics he had no answers other than scripture’.
‘The interview is quite entertaining’.
‘As I asked the questions, I had to fight internally to maintain my composure’.
‘It was an immense sense of pity for him at the same time with anger for him being so weak minded that he allowed his complete brainwashing’.
‘I invited him to lunch but his brain may be permanently and irreversibly rewired’.
‘At this point it has become an illness’.
‘That is the danger of the Tea Party’.
‘The leaders know better’.
‘The followers are just pawns in the game to allow a few to maintain the status quo, the American Plutocracy’.

And for you teabaggers out there – this IS in the Constitution :
‘Constitution – Article 4 Section 3’
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress”.

Remember Republicans – Just because you aren’t getting everything your way – you can’t just leave.
We are a Country……Not little tiny Republican serfdoms.
‘A group of voters from a sparsely populated region in Maryland want to form their own state, and they are threatening to secede from Maryland in order to do so’.
‘The group, which calls itself the Western Maryland Initiative (WMI), is dissatisfied with the fact that, in a democracy, people with minority views are frequently outvoted by people with more common views’.
‘As the Washington Post explains, this movement — as well as similar movements in places like Colorado and California — arose because a “population boom in urban areas such as Baltimore and the Maryland suburbs near the District, the Boulder-Denver areas in Colorado, and in Detroit have filled state legislatures with liberal policymakers pushing progressive agendas out of sync with rural residents, who feel increasingly isolated and marginalized.”

I might take some flack for this but common sense has died in Iowa.
‘The debate over arming the blind illustrates just how little progress gun reform efforts have made since Congress killed the Manchin-Toomey amendment in April’.
‘Iowa has gone from arguing over expanding gun sale background checks — a proposal which is supported by 75 percent of Iowans, according to a recent poll — to arguing about whether those whose vision is too impaired to drive a car should be allowed to carry a gun’.
‘If there really is a massive liberal conspiracy to eradicate Americans’ Second Amendment rights, it clearly isn’t very effective’.
‘In January, Stevie Wonder considered buying a gun to illustrate the inanity of America’s gun reform debate’.
“Imagine me with a gun,” the blind musician said at the time. “It’s crazy.”
‘Apparently, it’s not too crazy for Iowa’.
‘The Hawkeye State has been granting permits to acquire or carry guns in public to people who are legally or completely blind, the Des Moines Register reports’.
“It seems a little strange, but the way the law reads, we can’t deny them (a permit) just based on that one thing,” Sgt. Jana Abens, a spokeswoman for the Polk County sheriff’s office, told the Register’.
‘Polk County officials added that they’ve issued weapons permits to “at least three people who can’t legally drive and were unable to read the application forms or had difficulty doing so becaue of visual impairments.”
‘Under Iowa state law, sheriffs cannot deny an individual the right to carry a gun based on physical disability; additionally, preventing the blind from obtaining weapons permits could violate the Americans with Disabilities Act’.
‘Still, allowing someone with a visual impairment to carry a weapon in public creates an obvious public health concern’.

‘George Zimmerman was released without charges today after his wife called 911 to say Zimmerman punched his father-in-law in the nose and threatened to shoot him and his wife’.
‘He was later released without charges when his wife and father-in-law refused to press charges or give police a sworn statement’.
‘Police said they are reviewing surveillance video from the home and reserve the right to file charges later based on the video’.
‘Shellie Zimmerman called 911 shortly after 2 p.m. today and reported that her husband assaulted her father, Colin Morgan, and was waving a gun around and threatening her and her relatives, according to police in Lake Mary, Fla’.
‘A Lake Mary police official later said Zimmerman did not have a gun, officers never found a gun and that Zimmerman himself said he never had a gun on him’.
“We did not take a gun at all, because there was no reason to take a gun, because his gun was in his truck,” Bracknell said.
‘Shellie Zimmerman, police said, told them she never saw a gun but saw George Zimmerman’s hands near where she believed he would have had a weapon’.
‘In the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman tells a dispatcher that her husband was in his car raging, adding “he continually has his hand on his gun and he says step closer…” When Shellie Zimmerman trails off the dispatcher asks “step closer and what?” to which Shellie responds “a step closer and he’d shoot us.”
‘Zimmerman, who claimed self-defense after he shot and killed Martin, told police in a statement that he was acting in “a defensive manner” during the incident and did not have his hand on his gun, according to Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson’.
‘The 911 tapes describe a terrified Shellie Zimmerman. On the call to a police dispatcher she told police that her husband punched her father in the nose, smashed her iPad, cut it with a pocketknife and raged, “one step closer and he’d shoot us.”
“I don’t know what he’s capable of. I am really, really scared,” she told the dispatcher.
‘When police arrived she could be heard on the phone saying, “Dad, get behind a car or something. I don’t know if he’s going to start shooting at us or not.” George Zimmerman Feels ‘Invincible,’ His Wife Tells ABC News The incident came just days after Shellie Zimmerman told ABC News that she was not sure she “ever really knew” her husband through their seven years of marriage and she felt she was the victim of verbal abuse by him’.
‘She also said she believed the not guilty verdict left her husband feeling “invincible” and since then he had been “making some reckless decisions.”
