Murder – Gun Nuts Out Of Control – ‘Titusville slaying suspect claims he stood his ground’

vigalinte justice

vigilantes

This is the ideal in the guns nuts World.

Taking the law into their own hands.

Don’t need a police force.

Don’t need a court system.

Just grab your gun and sneak up on your neighbors in the middle of the night as they relax at their Labor Day BBQ and pop off almost 50 rounds from your assault weapon at your unarmed neighbors – killing two and one survived even after Woodward shot him 11 times.

Shooting someone who is unarmed 11 times is not ‘standing your ground’

That’s premeditated murder.

But gun nuts hold near and dear the romanticized fantasy of wild, wild west vigilante justice.

‘Attorneys for a man who police said shot three people at the culmination of a neighborhood feud have filed a motion demanding a jury determine whether William T. Woodward’s murder charges should be dismissed under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law’.

‘The motion says Woodward had been the target of a variety of threats and “exercised his right under Florida law to defend himself and his family that night.”

“It’s probably best that you don’t make threats against people, they may take you seriously,” said Robert Berry, an attorney representing Woodward’.

‘Officials say Woodward snuck up on a Labor Day barbecue and opened fire at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2012. Police arrived and found Gary Lee Hembree, Roger Picior and Bruce Timothy Blake all had been shot. Hembree and Picior died of their injuries. Blake, who was hit 11 times, survived’.

‘Woodward, 44, is accused of two counts of first-degree felony murder and attempted first-degree felony murder’.

‘Before the incident, police had responded numerous times to the ongoing dispute, according to a release. Woodward and Hembree went to court to discuss the dispute before Judge John D. Moxley. Moxley did not issue an injunction’.

‘Woodward’s attorneys argue that an attack could have been expected based on the words of his neighbors. They go on to mention the “Bush Doctrine,” a concept that justifies a pre-emptive attack based on the need to defend from a threat’.

  1. and yet you say nothing about the untold number of a-holes who claim the insanity defense to no avail.

    • I didn’t mention any other defenses as this article was about ‘stand your ground’ as a defense.
Using apples to describe oranges is stupid.
So is debating insanity in a post about ‘stand your ground’.

  2. so you would be happier then if they used a knift or bazooka or crossbow instead then? problems is not gun nuts the problem is just nutty people period, the police can’t help you bythe time they arrive youd be dead and the bad guy long gone you see criminals don’t use registered guns, they get it on the underground market steal it or file off all numbers and letters. so the problem is people not guns, personally i don’t like guns myself but that in no way means they are bad. there are millions of gun owners and only a handful of gun murders, the fbi has statistics on that and they say more people are killed annually by baseball bats then guns, guns are just hyped up by the news media and their education is not education at all, i would not trust anything they say or do, they lie repeatedly, that is their job. I guess if the news media hyped up baseball bats assauts and murders then everyone would want to ban baseball bats as if that has anything to do with people who are out of control or have no respect for their victims and surly don’t want their victims to be able to fight back. predators like low risk easy pickings. that video is so vague and blurry and the subjects so far away it is impossible to tell who did what. now did this guy shoot an unarmed man? don’t know, all I can tell is hearsay. stand your ground like guns, cars, baseball bats can be abused, but you can’t punish honest folk for the misuse by others disarming them, where they can’t defend themselves even with a broom or baseball bat or whatever. if you disarm the victims the predators will no doubt come out in full force because they know most will obey the law (unlike themselves) and thus they can have easy pickings. it is the predators that need to be disarmed restrained and pushed down legally, and lawfully and physically. not thevictims.

    • What you wrote really has nothing to do with my post.

Having gone to court and not getting a determination, this guy waited until his neighbors were sitting back and resting after their Labor Day BBQ and using his assault rifle, shot off almost 50 rounds —— claiming he was ‘standing his ground’ and protecting himself.

This post was about ‘stand your ground’ as a defense.

Shooting unarmed neighbors with an assault rifle while they are unaware is not standing your ground.
