Baseball fans super angry … who sang “God Bless America”? … a SPIC??

Someone singing ‘God Bless America’ becomes a ‘race war’?

It Is What It Is

Last night was the 2013 (July 16) MLB All-Star game.

Ah, America’s past time!

Who doesn’t love a good baseball game? And what better way to open up America’s game then with a heartfelt rendition of “God Bless America“?

And … wait, a minute.

Who is this guy coming out to sing “God Bless AMERICA”?

Wow! Who is this un-American Spanish Mexican spic illegal foreigner terrorist singing “God Bless AMERICA” at a game of baseball, our AMERICAN past time?

Why, it’s New York born, United States citizen of Puerto Rican descent, Marc Anthony! …. and so on, and so on, and so on …..

***This just shows how uneducated these Americans are ….. Puerto Ricans have fought & lost their lives in your wars, the Island is a “colony” of your “great” country!!

Republicanism Is Not What It Used To Be…

Today’s Republican party has adopted Barry Goldwater’s extremism.

You are at some type of social function or maybe just spending some time online discussing political issues.  The conservative guy pulls out the “Lincoln Card” and claims that the GOP is the party that freed the slaves…and he would be right.  His argument, however, loses steam very quickly when you discuss political party directions following the Civil War and, more distinctly, following WWII.

I bring this up because I find myself in this situation often.  I am originally from a very small, very conservative little town where most people vote Republican because “that’s what we’ve always done”.  And that is true.  Generation after generation has voted that way…not because they believe in what the party stands for, but rather, because that is how their parents and grandparents voted.

I end up trying to use logic and facts and tell them that the Republican party of today is not what…

Republican ‘War On Women’ – ‘Tea Party: Impregnated Rape Victims Who Abort Should Be Jailed As Long As Their Rapist’

war on women6

‘Rape is a horrifying crime that traumatizes over 60,000 women each year in America’.

‘It is estimated that 5% or more of these women become pregnant by their rapist’.

‘One can only imagine what a woman is going through when she learns that she is now carrying a totally unwanted pregnancy stemming from a traumatic event’.

‘But apparently the Tea Party sees things much differently, and outrageously so’.

‘Scottie Nell Hughes is the Director of the Tea Party News Network’.

‘And as an extreme conservative, she shares the same twisted views of anti-abortion fanatics’.

‘During a July 11th appearance on Viewpoint with John Fugelsang on Current TV, Hughes said that rape victims who end resulting pregnancies should be punished in the same manner as their rapists’.

‘In other words, prison. AND, they should serve the same amount of prison time’.

Blog Running – ‘Last Call For Obamacare Rate Shock’

obamacare works

If Obamacare is so bad, then instead of repealling it in whole or defunding it in part 40 times……enact it.

Then if it is bad, when it fails you can collect a huge amount of political capital.

Great stuff over at Zander vs. The Stupid…..

‘The larger point here is that New York is a state that wants to make its state health insurance exchange work and doesn’t have Republicans sabotaging it because Black President Is Tyrant or something’.

‘It’s amazing how, when given the opportunity to work, the program works as intended’.

‘2014 is the end of the Democrats! Doom! Total GOP domination! Obamacare is a miserable failure! Just look at New York, where individual premiums are being cut in half’!

‘Wait, that’s…what Obamacare is supposed to do’.

‘State insurance regulators say they have approved rates for 2014 that are at least 50 percent lower on average than those currently available in New York. Beginning in October, individuals in New York City who now pay $1,000 a month or more for coverage will be able to shop for health insurance for as little as $308 monthly. With federal subsidies, the cost will be even lower’.

‘Yep, that Obamacare law sure is a complete disaster, huh’.

‘Supporters of the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act, credited the drop in rates to the online purchasing exchanges the law created, which they say are spurring competition among insurers that are anticipating an influx of new customers. The law requires that an exchange be started in every state’.

“Health insurance has suddenly become affordable in New York,” said Elisabeth Benjamin, vice president for health initiatives with the Community Service Society of New York. “It’s not bargain-basement prices, but we’re going from Bergdorf’s to Filene’s here.”

“The extraordinary decline in New York’s insurance rates for individual consumers demonstrates the profound promise of the Affordable Care Act,” she added’.

‘Administration officials, long confronted by Republicans and other critics of President Obama’s signature law, were quick to add New York to the list of states that appear to be successfully carrying out the law and setting up exchanges’.

“We’re seeing in New York what we’ve seen in other states like California and Oregon — that competition and transparency in the marketplaces are leading to affordable and new choices for families,” said Joanne Peters, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services’.

‘And let’s remember that competition in the free market has long, long been a Republican screaming point. When President Obama actually put that into effect, they went bonkers’.

‘Once again, if Obamacare is such a failure, explain to me how New York has significantly more insurers coming into the state, wanting to offer more products, at far, far better prices. The best part is rates for small businesses are going down too, AND people are going to get subsidies.

‘It’s like the damn thing works when you want to make it work’.

Stories From The Fringe – ‘Town of Deer Trail considering hunting licenses for unmanned aerial vehicles, bounties for drones’

drone hunting

It would almost be worth going to Deer Trail to get a ‘drone hunting license’ just as a souvenir.

‘They fly in town, they get shot down,’ man says’.

DEER TRAIL, Colo. – ‘The small town of Deer Trail, Colorado is considering a bold move’.

‘The town board will be voting on an ordinance that would create drone hunting licenses and offer bounties for unmanned aerial vehicles’.

‘Deer Trail resident, Phillip Steel, drafted the ordinance’.

“We do not want drones in town,” said Steel. “They fly in town, they get shot down.”

‘Even though it’s against the law to destroy federal property, Steel’s proposed ordinance outlines weapons, ammunition, rules of engagement, techniques, and bounties for drone hunting’.

‘The ordinates states, “The Town of Deer Trail shall issue a reward of $100 to any shooter who presents a valid hunting license and the following identifiable parts of an unmanned aerial vehicle whose markings and configuration are consistent with those used on any similar craft known to be owned or operated by the United States federal government.”

‘7NEWS Reporter Amanda Kost asked Steel, “Have you ever seen a drone flying over your town?”

“No,” Steel responded. “This is a very symbolic ordinance. Basically, I do not believe in the idea of a surveillance society, and I believe we are heading that way.”

‘If passed by the town board, Deer Trail would charge $25 for drone hunting licenses, valid for one year’.

“They’ll sell like hot cakes, and it would be a real drone hunting license,” said Steel, “It could be a huge moneymaker for the town.”
