A ‘Conservative’ vision for America – ‘Paul Ryan: ‘I’m Focused On Poverty These Days’

paul ryan2

And it’s true.

He is focused on hurting the poor as much as he can.

‘House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) said Monday that he’s focused primarily on addressing poverty, a week after he complained that the farm bill did not include enough cuts to the food stamp program’.

“Look, I’m a conservative who believes that our constitutional principles, founding principles are the key principles for the day and they’re the best if applied to our problems to solve problems,” Ryan said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “And we need to have that kind of temperament. This is why I’m focused on poverty these days, this is why I’m focused on — we’ve got the 50th anniversary of the war on poverty coming up next year. We don’t have much to show for it.”

‘The Wisconsin Republican voted against the farm bill that failed in the House of Representatives last week’.

‘In a floor statement, Ryan lamented that the farm bill proposed only “modest changes” to the food stamp program, which he said had grown at an alarming rate’.

‘Ryan did, however, vote for an amendment to the farm bill authored by Rep. Steve Southerland (R-FL) that would have applied federal work requirements to the food stamp program, a measure that cost the legislation Democratic votes’.

Republicans : “We Need To Cut Taxes For The Wealthy!!” – ‘76% of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck’

repubs cut taxes for wealthy paycheck

‘Fewer than one in four Americans have enough money in their savings account to cover at least six months of expenses, enough to help cushion the blow of a job loss, medical emergency or some other unexpected event, according to the survey of 1,000 adults’.

‘Meanwhile, 50% of those surveyed have less than a three-month cushion and 27% had no savings at all’.

poor in Tenn

‘Yesterday, the state’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced a change in the amount of money to be paid to unemployed Tennesseans who have dependent children, eliminating the $15 per week allowance for each kid in the household’.

‘According to this morning’s The Tennessean (motto: “Doing our best to keep you up to speed on the country music scene!”) the new law will save the state $40 million a year’.

‘Just a reminder: the unemployment trust fund is currently increasing, with no chance of becoming insolvent, due to the changes made to increase premiums on more taxable income’.

‘The only reason the state’s GOP is pushing to remove the dependent child benefit is to leave more money in the fund, which would justify a reduction in premiums and a reduction in the amount of income taxed for unemployment insurance’.

‘In other words, if all goes well, they can reduce the taxes currently being paid by businesses in the state, and balance the books on the backs of the unemployed’.

‘If you’re out of work and have three kids sitting around the kitchen table with you at night, that extra $45 per week in benefits might be the difference between eating and keeping the lights on in the house’.

‘But if you’re a millionaire business owner paying your employees rock-bottom wages, doing your best to reduce all health care benefits, and making more money than you’ve ever made, that extra unemployment tax might keep you from “creating more jobs”…’

‘Or buying that second home in the Florida keys’.

‘Fox News Host Admits, On Air, That They Make Things Up’

"Our viewers are too dumb to know the difference".

“Our viewers are too dumb to know the difference”.

‘An off-handed comment, likely intended as a joke. That is what will be said about this clip (bottom) where Fox News host Bill Hemmer commented that without major news or talking points to discuss, they would just “make something up.”

‘George Zimmerman’s Lawyer Opens Trial With A Knock-Knock Joke’

Because the murder of a young man is just so funny……

‘George Zimmerman’s defense attorney kicked off the first day of trial in the high-profile case with a knock-nock joke’.

‘Don West admitted that his approach was a “bit weird” in the context of the death of Trayvon Martin, but told jurors in his opening statement that they are the “perfect audience” for the bit’:

WEST: “Let me say, I would like to tell you a little joke. I know how that may sound a bit weird in this context under these circumstances. But I think you’re the perfect audience for it. As long as you don’t — if you don’t like it or don’t think it’s funny or inappropriate that you don’t hold it against Mr. Zimmerman. Hold it against me if you want, but not Mr. Zimmerman. I have your assurance you won’t.
Here’s how it goes”:

“Knock knock. Who’s there? George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman who”?

“All right. Good. You’re on the Jury”.

“Nothing? That’s funny. After what you folks have been through the last two or three weeks”.

TEHRAN (FNA)- ‘Commander of Iran’s Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi underlined that the current crisis in Syria will terminate with the collapse of the Zionist regime’.

“The end of (crisis in) Syria will lead to the collapse of the Zionist regime,” Naqdi said in the Northern province of Golestan on Saturday night’.

‘Elsewhere, he referred to the recent unrests in Turkey, and stressed, “What is happening in Turkey is a lesson for those who say that we should turn to the West.”

When someone makes a statement, especially an accusing one, I want to know the persons character and citations so that that person can be questioned.

When Eddy runs to Hong Kong, leaving his girl friend and then talks to the press rather then stay in Hawaii and pick up the phone and call ANY US Representative or Senator’s office – ALL of which would have been happy to talk to him – THAT tells me all I need to know about his character.

With his running to Russia, Cuba and perhaps Ecuador….shows me he is running from the very so called ‘justice’ he wants imposed on the people he is accusing.

But then there are people like this……

“If convicted on all three counts, the former N.S.A. contract-systems administrator could face thirty years in jail. On the Sunday-morning talk shows I watched, there weren’t many voices saying that would be an excessive punishment for someone who has performed an invaluable public service”.

I never have, do not now and never will feel sorry for someone who does not have the courage of their convictions.

That the author of this article does – tells me their character.
