What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘Senator Told Shooting Victim’s Mother He Supported Background Checks, Then Voted Against Them’

What is wrong is the almost constant lying.

‘Shortly before the a crucial Senate vote to expand background checks in gun transactions, Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) sent a letter to the mother of a shooting victim claiming that he was “truly sorry” for her son’s death and that “strengthening background checks is something we agree on.” A few days later, he voted to kill the background checks bill’.

‘Caren Teves’ son Alex died during the Aurora theater mass shooting while shielding his girlfriend from the gun man’s bullets’.

‘She wrote a letter to Sen. Flake, in which she “invited him to our home to sit in our son’s chair, his empty chair” and “feel the emptiness and have dinner with us and discuss” guns’.

‘In response, Flake sent Teves a hand-written letter claiming that he supported one of the most important steps Congress could take to improve gun safety — expanding background checks’.

‘Just days after raising Teves’ hopes that the Senate would act to prevent future mothers from experiencing the same pain inflicted upon her family, Flake voted against background checks’.

‘Flake claimed to oppose the bill because it “would expand background checks far beyond commercial sales to include almost all private transfers — including between friends and neighbors,” but this claim is false’.

‘As Mark Kelly, husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) lamented after seeing Flake’s explanation, “it appears he hasn’t read the bill.”

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘Why Does Evil Make Liberals Stupid?

Most ‘Liberals’ understands that ‘Muslims’ don’t carry out terrorist attacks.

Extremists do.

A growing number of ‘Conservatives’ don’t see the difference between a Muslim and an extremist.

John Hinderaker wrote this articel over at ‘Power Line’, a Conservative blog.

Here’s the jist of it :

“Liberals can’t help themselves: while normal people are reviling the bombers, celebrating their capture or death, and debating measures that can be taken to prevent future atrocities, liberals’ thinking (if you can call it that) goes in a different direction”.

“Liberals call for understanding; tell the rest of us we don’t realize how complex mass murder is; recommend introspection (But why? I didn’t do it.); and warn against various forms of overreaction to the latest terrorist outrage”.
@ :

And less then 50 words later, John glaringly points out the difference between being a ‘Liberal and a Conservative :

“Muslims alone carry out, on the average, several terrorist attacks a day for the purpose of harming innocent men, women and children.”

Not extremists.

Not Islamic Extremists.

In the case of the Boston Bombing, a lot of released information is pointing to the older brother MAY have been influenced by Islamist extremeists.

But there is a huge difference between MAY and IS.

Add to that, you can’t condemn one group because of the actions of 1 person.

Well… shouldn’t.

The new Republican party does.

And THAT’S what is wrong with the Republican Party.

Making hate, fear and loathing – policy.

One Man’s Trash – Isn’t this ‘terrorism? – ‘Scathing’ by Chris Nogy – Republican Party of Benton County Newsletter’

one man's trash1

A Chris Nogy wrote this in a piece called ‘Scathing’ in the Republican Party of Benton County Newsletter.

The threat of violence is terror.

His response was over his State’s legislature response to ‘Obamacare’.

To Chris – threatening a legislature with ‘walking up and shooting them if they got too far out of line’ is much more effective then elections.

It lets Chris and Republicans decide what form of Government we will have.

Do we want a Nation where our ‘leaders’ live in fear of us?

This is the ‘new Republican Party’.

Still haven’t figured out that hate, fear and loathing is not a policy.

Chris Nogy :

“We need to let those who will come in the future to represent us that we are serious”.

“The 2nd amendment means nothing unless those in power believe you would have no problem simply walking up and shooting them if they got too far out of line and stopped responding as representatives”.

“It seems that we are unable to muster that belief in any of our representatives on a state or federal level, but we have to have something, something costly, something that they will fear that we will use if they step out of line”.

“If we can’t shoot them, we have to at least be firm in our threat to take immediate action against them politically, socially, and civically if they screw up on something this big”.

“Personally, I think a gun is quicker and more merciful, but hey, we can’t”.

Why America Is Failing – ‘Koch Brothers Look to Buy Newspapers’

koch brothers

Journalism is pretty much dead in America.

Looking at the possibilities of how our Nation might fail, news and our perspectives we form from the news would be a top prospect.

So when the wealthy with extreme agendas other then just profits,  purchase major news papers, well the FOX mantra of ‘We report – You decide’ soon will become ‘We report and tell you what to decide’.

‘Charles and David Koch, the billionaire industrialists and supporters of libertarian causes, “have mostly avoided media investments,” the New York Times reports’.

‘Now, Koch Industries “is exploring a bid to buy the Tribune Company’s eight regional newspapers, including The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, The Orlando Sentinel and The Hartford Courant.”

Blog Running – ‘LOL Of The Week: Texas Explosion Illuminates The Glaring Hypocrisy Of Rick Perry And Ted Cruz’

rick perry

ted cruz

Perry and Cruz will both make runs at the 2016 Republican Presidential nomination.

The betting is not who will win but rather which will fail first……

The line favors Perry failing faster then Cruz.

‘Of course, there’s nothing funny about the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas that claimed the lives of at least 14 — many of them first responders — and injured more than 100’.

‘Texas governor Rick Perry immediately declared McLennan County a disaster area and asked for an emergency declaration from the president, noting, “It is unfortunate for us that we face both natural and manmade disasters too often in this state.”

‘Since 2009, Texas has far more Federal Emergency Management Agency-declared disasters – 75 — than any other state. This nearly constant need for federal intervention belies Governor Perry’s nearly constant bellicose rhetoric attacking big government’.

‘Actually, much of what’s going on in Texas belies Perry’s nearly constant rhetoric attacking big government’.

‘The governor likes to brag about a “Texas miracle” without mentioning how taxpayers have subsidized much of it — indirectly through tax breaks to the oil industry and directly via military and government spending’.

‘As of 2011, private sector jobs had grown 9 percent since 2000, while public sector jobs were up by 19 percent’.

‘Perry is happy to spend federal money when headline-grabbing disaster strikes his state specifically. But he does stick to his “principles” when it comes to Texas’ ongoing health care disaster’.

‘Texas has the highest uninsured rate of any state in the union’.

‘Families USA estimates that in 2010, 57 Texans died each week for lack of health insurance’.

‘How does did Perry respond to this emergency’?

‘By turning down millions in health care just to punish the state’s Planned Parenthood organization’.

‘He also joined state Republicans in cutting family planning funding, a choice that could easily end up costing taxpayers more than $100 million’.

‘Perry’s hypocrisy isn’t nearly good enough for Texas’s junior senator, Tea Party darling Ted Cruz’.

‘Cruz defeated Perry’s favored candidate in the GOP primary by attacking the big-spending establishment that didn’t spend enough time pretending they were the only people who had ever read the Constitution’.

‘One of Cruz’s first stands as a senator was to vote against aid to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Why’?

“Emergency relief for the families who are suffering from this natural disaster should not be used as a Christmas tree for billions in unrelated spending, including projects such as Smithsonian repairs, upgrades to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration airplanes, and more funding for Head Start,” he said in a statement’.

‘What Cruz didn’t note is that the extra appropriations in the bill were mostly demands — some would say bribes — that red-state senators negotiated for their states to pass the aid that had been blocked by the last Congress’.

‘Cruz’s stand after the Sandy aid — which took exponentially longer to arrive in the affected blue states than it typically does when a disaster strikes a red state like Texas — is in sharp contrast to the statement he made after Wednesday’s explosion in West’.

“It’s truly horrific and we are working to ensure that all available resources are marshaled to deal with the horrific loss of life and suffering that we’ve seen,” Cruz said’.

Why it’s called the ‘Stupid Party’ – ‘TN lawmaker passes resolution to honor himself’

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – ‘A Tennessee legislator is catching heat for passing a resolution to honor himself’.

“I think it’s important for us as a state to say, ‘Hey, great job on creating jobs and moving the ball forward,'” said Lundberg, R-Bristol’.

‘Lundberg’s resolution, written by his own staff, honors his public relations firm, The Corporate Image, and says things like “the owners and employees of The Corporate Image are many such noteworthy persons” and “the company has continued to set the standard for the highest quality professional services.”

‘Lundberg passed another resolution back in 2009 honoring his daughter for graduating high school. When asked about that resolution Wednesday, Lundberg said he stands by that one, too’.

Stories From The Fringe – ”I Don’t Bluff, I Make Promises’: Beck Gives Gov’t Until Monday to Come Clean About Boston Bombing Cover-Up’

glenn beck1

And after Monday comes and goes, well actually the supposed ‘conspiracy’ was already debunked, Glenn ‘Rodeo Clown’ Beck will just move on to the next ‘conspiracy’.

Some other ‘great stores’ Beck has ‘exposed’….

‘Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin see a conspiracy in Obama birth certificate release’
@ :

‘Near the end of today’s radio broadcast, Glenn Beck declared that the cover-up of the Saudi link to the Boston Marathon bombing makes this the second most important thing (behind 9/11) that he has ever covered in his broadcasting career’.

‘And depending on how the media and the government responds in the coming days, it just might be the most important thing he’s ever covered because the response “will either save our country or we will be done.”

‘Beck then went on to send a semi-coded message to those in the upper level of the government warning that they had better come clean about this Saudi national because The Blaze has information that reveals that he “is a very bad, bad, bad man” which will be revealed on Monday’.

“I don’t bluff,” Beck stated, “I make promises. The truth matters. I’ve had enough of what you’ve done to our country. I thought I had heard and seen it all. I thought I didn’t trust my government. Oh no, no, no. There is no depth that these people will not stoop to. They have until Monday and then The Blaze will expose it.”
