Just because it always has been, doesn't mean it always will be

But it’s NOT Republican Obstructionism – ‘Rand Paul and Ted Cruz threaten filibuster on guns’

Because he wants to do it.

Who cares what the American people think. The tea party….they ‘really’ know the Constitution so they will stop any legislation that might be Unconstitutional – to them.

Eveybody say thank you Harry Reid for reforming the Senate rules on filibustering with just 41 votes….

Oh that’s right.

You DIDN’T reform that rule so the minority still controls the majority in the Senate.

‘An overwhelming 90 percent of registered voters in the Post/ABC poll favored a proposal requiring background checks at gun shows’.
@ :
‘Sens. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are threatening to filibuster gun-control legislation, according to a letter they plan to hand-deliver to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s office on Tuesday’.

“We will oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions,” the three conservatives wrote in a copy of the signed letter obtained by POLITICO’.

‘Lee staged a test vote on the issue during consideration of the Senate budget last week. He tried to amend a point of order against gun control legislation to the budget but fell short’.

‘It needed a three-fifths supermajority and failed 50-49, needing 60 votes to pass’.

‘But the final tally emboldened Lee, Paul and Cruz because they were so close to a majority and a filibuster takes just 41 votes to sustain’.

  2. We need an upheaval in the senate. We need to teach Harry Reid how to surf. I wanna see Harry Reid on a surf board riding a tsunami of some kind over the next GOP filibuster ~ their filibuster that favors another Newtown massacre for starters …

    • Reid blew it when he chickened out on changing the Senate rules.
I understand his being afraid of when the Democrats are the minority but now we have 2 years of filibusters in the Senate and 2 years of Republicans defunding everything in the House.
      2 years of stagnation.
2 years where even if President Obama wanted to name a post office after an Afghanistan veteran, the Republicans wouldn’t pass it.
