Saving America 1.1 – Is President Obama a 1 term President?

No it’s not some perverted form of ‘March Madness’ over
here at the Last of the Millenniums.

It’s a very serious question.

“Otherwise a handful of tyrannical nobles, exercising
their oppressions by a delegation of their powers, might
aspire to the rank of republicans”.

Is President Obama, in effect, a 1 term President because a minority of the Majority in the House of
Representatives, a ‘handful of tyrannical nobles’ as it were, is using ‘governing by obstruction’?

Obama won the Presidential election. 66 Million votes to
Mitt Romney’s 61 Million.(1)

Obama won the electoral college 332 to Romney’s 206.(1)

The Democrats gained 2 seats in the Senate and 8 seats
in the House while winning the majority of votes cast
nationwide.(2,3 & 4)

Yet in actual governing, were it not for the Speaker
overiding the Hastert Rule 3 times (Fiscal Cliff, Sandy
Aid and Violence Against Women Act), there would have
been almost no legislation passed favored by the
Democrats and President Obama.(5, 6 & 7)

And Speaker Boehner has already been warned that if he
over rides the Hastert Rule one more time, he will lose
his Speakership and be primaried.(8)

The Sequester cuts which everybody agreed would be a
disaster to our defense, went into place seemingly with
Republican blessing.(9)

And Paul Ryan had proposed yet more cutting (albeit NOT
in defense) in his latest budget.(10)

We are looking at watered down versions on ‘gun
control’, immigration, climate change in the Senate that
regardless of what passes, won’t pass in the House.(11)

So in effect, unless Speaker Boehner over rides the
Hastert Rule, risks losing his leadership (and trust me
this IS a case of better the devil you know) and
possibly lose his job in a year and a half, President
Obama and the Democrats, having won the election, are
powerless to a small group of Conservative Republicans
in the House.

I give you James Madison’s Federalist Paper #39 :

“It is essential to such a government, that it be
derived from the great body of the society, not from an
inconsiderable proportion, or a favored class of it;
otherwise a handful of tyrannical nobles, exercising
their oppressions by a delegation of their powers, might
aspire to the rank of republicans, and claim for their
government the honorable title of republic”.

That ‘handful of tyrannical nobles’ is that small
minority, holding a Nation hostage to THEIR principles.

So my answer is yes. President Obama having won
re-election will be in effect a 1 term President.

Not by his doing. He wants to govern.

Not by the Country’s doing. We elected him – again!

President Obama will be a 1 term President, blocked from
governing much less passing any legislation he favors by
a small minority of ‘Conservative’ Republicans.

This is and will be our reality for the next 2 years.

Even then, if the House, unlikely, comes back into
Democratic hands,

By then, every eye and piece of legislation will be
viewed under the lens of 2016.

The only positive variable here is that should or if the
Nation’s reaction to ‘government by obstruction’ is so
large that the Democrats DO take back the Hosue and gain
6 seats in the Senate, President Obama could, could have
a year to pass favored legislation.

I’m not holding my breath.
