The Western Word

Did you ever wonder who makes the decision on whether or not a law or regulation is constitutional? I think I’ve found the answer: Five county sheriffs in Montana.

Yes – Five county sheriffs in Montana. You probably won’t find that information in any textbook – but aren’t textbooks mostly a tool from the educated left to keep the righties down…

According to a story by the Associated Press, “Sheriffs in at least five Montana counties are resisting new federal gun regulations.”

One Montana Sheriff said that “he won’t enforce any ‘unconstitutional’ federal gun regulations” and others said they wouldn’t help the Feds when they come to confiscate our AR-10 upper’s, guns and rifles.

An e-mail was sent from two Montana sheriffs to their counterparts across the state “urging them to refuse to enforce or to permit the enforcement of any new federal gun regulations.”

And I thought…

Conversation with an obsessive/compulsive, ignorant Conservative : “I posted Earlier that There is a “National Gun Ban” in the works and was called a layer. So be it, Look at legislation in the senate right now on “Assault Weapons” is not a “National Ban”?(my bad)”

conversations

13 unapproved comments because this ‘Conservative’ won’t
stand by and prove what he wrote is true.

Well I didn’t call you a ‘layer’, nor did I call you a liar
which is a word we have in the English language for someone
who doesn’t tell the truth.

What I did say was that until you answered the
statements you made, you would be spam. In fact, I’ve posted
a cut and paste of what I wrote you.

You sadly are the very public face of the minority in the
Republican Party. A minority that is running the Party and
obstructing our Nation.

Making false statements and then running away.

Either you truly don’t know/understand the difference between ‘National Gun ban’ and ‘Assault Weapons ban’, which is scary or you are purposely misleading which stops in it’s tracks any possible intelligent debate.

But please go ahead and listen to and believe FOX, Rush, Beck, Dick Morris and Karl Rove…….the same people that told you Mitt Romney was not just going to win……but win in a landslide.

So again……a very simple thing to do. Rather then divert
your comment into me of falsely accusing you……just answer
the questions I have on the statements you made.

In other words……stand by what you said.

Do you have the courage of your convictions? Or are you just
spam?
– – – – – – – –
Now why didn’t/won’t you answer those 5 questions?

Because until you answer them directly – the total of 9
responses you’ve made and are making is just spam.

1. Who is calling for a ‘National Gun ban’?
2. How many people can 1 person (unarmed) kill vs. 1 person
armed kill?
3. When 40% of guns are purchased via gun shows where no
background checks are mandated, how is that a ‘strict law’?
4. Show me where EVERY gun owner is trained just like you
are.
5. Show me were President Obama has asked for legislation
banning all guns.

YOU are the one that brought them up.

The tea party – McCarthyism for the 21st Century – ‘Arizona Bills Require Public School Students To Recite Loyalty Oaths’

loyality oaths1

You can’t just BE American……..you have to take an ‘oath’ because of course that ‘proves’ you’re an American.

Amazing.

tea baggers.

Love America.

Hate Americans.

‘Public high school students in Arizona will have to “recite an oath supporting the U.S. Constitution” to receive a graduation diploma, if a new bill introduced in the new session of the state legislature is passed and signed into law’.

‘The measure, House Bill 2467, was offered by Rep. Bob Thorpe (R), a freshman tea party members who also backs a bill preventing state enforcement of federally enacted gun safety laws’.

‘Here is the text of HB 2467:

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘G.O.P.’s Cantor, Looking Past Politics of Debt’

eric cantor

And herein lies the difference between a Republican and a Democrat.

Rep. Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor wants to help 1 struggling single mother to ‘escape the bad schools she is stuck with’.

Democrats want to help ALL of the struggling single mothers, fathers, parents and at least make the effort to fix the ‘bad schools’.

Republicans helping the few.

Democrats helping as many as they can.

What about the parent(s) that DON’T have a ‘gifted child’?  Why not fix ALL the schools so that ALL children, gifted or not, get the best education?

Aide to Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor –

“We are in a town run by Democrats, and we cannot win the hearts and minds of Americans if we are just talking about numbers, day in and day out,” said a Cantor aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss his boss’s plans. “There are a lot of things Republicans care about.”

Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor –

Citing a struggling single mother with a gifted child in a poor city neighborhood, he told Davos attendees, “We need to create some type of competitive mechanisms” to help her escape the bad schools she is stuck with.

Why America Is Failing – ‘Paul Ryan: Obama 2nd term ‘won’t be pretty’

republican onstructionsim1

Simple, basic obstructionism.

In the Senate, thanks to Harry ‘The Whimp’ Reid who can’t even remember 8 months ago :

May 10, 2012 :

Republicans can continue to filibuster.

And in the House, Republlicans can continue to ‘defund’ everything.

Two years of continued stagnation will bring America to it’s economic knees.
‘Holding out little hope of compromise, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan predicted Saturday that the nation will face “tepid growth and deficits” under President Barack Obama and Republicans must prudently “buy time” and “keep the bond markets at bay — for the sake of our people.”

The Wisconsin Republican and 2012 vice presidential candidate made his remarks before the National Review Institute in a speech titled “The Principle of Prudence and the Conservative Renewal.”

‘But most striking was the grim tone and almost total absence of any confidence that progress can be made between the two political parties in the budget process this year’.

‘Instead Ryan portrayed more of a long waiting game: “If they won’t help fix our entitlements, then we have to buy time,” he said. “We have to keep the bond markets at bay — for the sake of our people.”

“The horizon before us might seem narrow. But believe me: It’s going to grow,” he promised his conservative audience’.

“As the president implements his agenda, the results will fall far short of the rhetoric. And they won’t be pretty. We will have tepid growth and deficits — health-care price controls and rationing.”

“This session, I’ll advance reforms to protect and strengthen Medicare and Medicaid (cutting both programs),” Ryan said Saturday. “Dave Camp, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, will advance a tax-reform effort(tax cuts for the ‘job creators). And we will propose a budget that will balance and pay down the debt (cutting social programs while increasing military spending)”.

“Unfortunately, the Democrats are unlikely to accept our proposals. They refuse to consider real reform. But we will lay the groundwork for future endeavors. So when reform is possible, we will be ready.

“The president will bait us. He’ll portray us as cruel and unyielding,” Ryan said. “Look, it’s the same trick he plays every time: Fight a straw man. Avoid honest debate. Win the argument by default”.

Note : Winning by default means the other side didn’t show up.

“The way he tells it, it’s the president (because basicly it is) — and only the president — who’s trying to fix our bridges, to feed our children, to care for seniors, to clean our water,” Ryan added. “But we can’t get rattled. We won’t play the villain in his morality plays. We have to stay united. We have to show that — if given the chance — we can govern. We have better ideas (we just can’t think of them right now).”

“The mystical war against Communism,” he says, “finds its counterpart in the mystical war on terrorism.. . .[mysticism] prevents us from seeing things as they are.”

This country was founded on the principle that a standing army should never be necessary; under the Second Amendment a militia made up of ordinary citizens would be guaranteed the right to bear arms to protect their country from tyranny. Even after the First World War we had no standing army, though in 1911 the concept of a militia was laid to rest. After the War to End All Wars, the country’s military might continued slowly to grow, and in the 1930s our government had a standing committee in Congress to oversee the military; in 1934 Congress passed the National Firearms act designed to keep the production of weapons of war in the hands of the government — and such weapons as machine guns out of the hands of civilians. In 1939 the Supreme Court upheld the Firearms Act insisting it was entirely consistent with the Second Amendment.
