Crimes Against Divinity

This story didn’t happen in the United States, but it easily could have. In Auckland, New Zealand, a couple of parents made the decision to pay heed to all of the conspiracy theories regarding the dangers of vaccinations, and how their children would be better off without them. No word on whether they are avid readers of this nutjob and her collected works.

Well wouldn’t you know it, their kid got tetanus.  He was rushed to the hospital and ended up on life support in an induced coma.  He’s out now, but the recovery is going to be a long and painful process.  Among other things, he has to learn how to eat and walk again, and still suffers from spasms as a result of the infection.  Now here’s the upside:

“Son’s ordeal was our fault”, say parents

[After their son Alijah fell ill, t]hey immediately immunised their other children…

A Conversation with a ‘Conservative Part #4 – “I can see you lean hard left, that’s your right. I served to protect and defend that right for you”.

gun contgrol

Strangely when I served, USMC Vietnam ’71-’72, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.

Maybe that’s your problem. You served to ‘protect’ political ‘leanings’.

Now why didn’t/won’t you answer those 5 questions?

Because until you answer them directly – the total of 9 responses you’ve made and are making is just spam.

1. Who is calling for a ‘National Gun ban’?
2. How many people can 1 person (unarmed) kill vs. 1 person armed kill?
3. When 40% of guns are purchased via gun shows where no background checks are mandated, how is that a ‘strict law’?
4. Show me where EVERY gun owner is trained just like you are.
5. Show me were President Obama has asked for legislation banning all guns.

YOU are the one that brought them up.

1. Who is calling for a ‘National Gun ban’?
By not answering where you heard that someone credible was seeking a ‘National Gun ban’, you lack all credibility. Well unless you are FOX, Rush, Beck or many, many other Conservative talk. Make a false statement and then just walk away.

Donny – if YOU won’t defend what YOU said – why should anyone listen to you?

And the rest of the questions you danced around –

2. How many people can 1 person (unarmed) kill vs. 1 person armed kill?
‘Nobody knows’? That’s your final answer?
You prefer to protect yourself.
Guess what Donny? NONE of the Executive orders that President Obama signed nor ANY of the credible legislation will prevent you from doing just that.
You need more then 10 rounds? Then you are talking about an exceptional occurance or combat.
NOT the norm.
We do not live in a perfect World.
3. When 40% of guns are purchased via gun shows where no background checks are mandated, how is that a ‘strict law’?
You just ignored this but cited that Fl has strict laws – after the fact.

4. Show me where EVERY gun owner is trained just like you are.
And you admitied they aren’t, yet YOU want to put military style assault weapons with 30 round clips into the hands of people without proper traing or actual live round experience, with out background checks.

5. Show me were President Obama has asked for legislation banning all guns.
And just like #1 – you won’t answer.

The Country is not about you or me. It’s about ALL of us.

ALL of us.

We are all in this together.

A gun is manufactured for one reason and one reason only – to kill.

Having weapons ‘well regulated’ should be the rule not the exception.

I can see you lean hard left, that’s your right. I served to protect and defend that right for you. I have only to say that I know that the number of “well Trained” people are few. Saying this I also say have you ever been in a true life and death situation? Where you had to kill or be killed? Have you ever been under “Direct Fire”? Do you know how many rounds it will take you or the average person to neutralizer a threat?
The truth is No One dose. Even a trained Person can get “Rattled” under fire. What do you do if there are more than one or two intruders? I know from Personal Experience that there are times that 10 rounds just aren’t enough.
As to some of the safety concerns versus “Wonderful” police protection. I live in a rule area where there can be as much as a 20 minuet response time. Look at national stats a “Violent Home Invasion” where a person is raped, killed, or worse is over in a very short time. I Admire and Respect my local Police, they do a great job. I have Family members that do this job and do it well.
I prefer to be able to protect myself along with the help they provide. I am not going to go into my depth of training, as to my Weapons being trained, all I have to say is they are as well trained as the operator of them.
All of my Weapons are registered, I have had many back ground checks done on myself and family with NO Problems.
I Personally hate a revolver, I prefer a Semi Auto. If I chose an AR15 or an AK47 (Semi. Auto. Version) with 2 30 round mag’s. so what? People like me are NOT the issue at hand. I see ANY ban. on any Semi. Auto. as an INFRINGEMENT on my Second Amendment rights.
As to being at war, let me ask you this. Do you live in the south west? take Texas for example how many drug runners come across the border each day? How many are armed and armed well? Our Borders are not secure and neither is our Country. If I am facing a “MOB” of drug smugglers do I want an AR 15 or a Revolver? Or better still do I call 911 and hope and pray they get to me before I am “Worm Food”?
No this is not a Perfect place, I do not know of any such place. It is my Home and BY GOD I will defend it! Down to the last Round, Arrow, and Man!
Being a “Gun Owner” carries a great deal of responsibility. I am the one that has to stand and account for what my guns are used for, when and for what reason.
As to Strict laws: Look to Florida, the 10 20 life is a good starting place. Its 100% clear and final!
There is one more thing I will say, and its a quote from Martin Luther King. “Everything Hitler did in Germany was Legal Too” see a pattern here?

‘Reid to Senate Republicans: Filibuster deal in 36 hours or face nuclear option’

filibuster4

A little advice from Yoda -“There is no try – only do”.

‘Filibuster reform has become a headache for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)’.

‘Reid is stuck in the middle, between liberal senators pushing hard for drastic reform and senior Democrats balking at changing the culture of the upper chamber’.

‘Powerful liberal groups and left-leaning lawmakers see filibuster reform as necessary to advancing President Obama’s second-term agenda, which includes immigration reform and gun-control legislation’.

“The president can’t act on legislation if the Senate can’t act on legislation, and therefore it’s so important that we end the secret silent filibuster that has plagued this body,” said Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), a leading proponent of reform’.

‘Senate Democrats debated how to proceed during a lunch meeting that stretched for more than an hour Tuesday — and left the room with little resolved’.

‘Reid has begun to show signs of impatience with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), with whom he has been negotiating for weeks. He said Tuesday that he and McConnell have made progress, but added, “[W]e’ve got a long way to go.”

‘The Nevada Democrat said he would give Republicans another 24 to 36 hours to agree to filibuster reform and then trigger the so-called nuclear option. This controversial tactic would allow him to change the Senate rules with a simple majority vote’.

“I hope within the next 24 to 36 hours we can get something we agree on. If not, we’re going to move forward on what I think needs to be done. The caucus will support me on that,” Reid told reporters’.

Gun Nuts Out Of Control – ‘Tea Party Congressman: Citizens Should Have Same Weapons As The Military’

military weapons

“When you read the Second Amendment…..”

Amendment II
‘A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed’.

And background checks, banning military assault weapons and high capicity clips is part of being ‘well regulated’.

‘Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), a freshman Republican congressman is arguing that the 2nd Amendment could be interpreted broadly enough to allow ordinary citizens access to the same equipment that the military uses’.

YOHO: “On guns, [my constituents] were saying that the sentiment, when you read the Second Amendment, is that the militia had the same equipment as the military to protect them against the tyrannical government. I think it’s more important today than ever, that we uphold our second amendment”.

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘House Republican Leader Blames Gun Violence On ‘Welfare Moms’

republicans on gun viuolence

‘Welafre Mom’s’ who put their kids on drugs are to blame for the gun violence’.

People not wearing tin foil hats to protect themselves from the raido beams from outer space are to blame for the gun violence.

Republicans have blamed everything else but guns for the gun violence.

‘Rep. James Lankford (R-OK), the fifth-ranking House Republican, laid the blame for gun violence at the feet of an unusual suspect: the children of “welfare moms” who commit fraud’.

CONSTITUENT: “My question is regarding the guns and is Washington at all aware of the psychotropic drugs that these children are taking? I guarantee it 100 percent that’s our big problem. […]”

LANKFORD: “I agree with that. I think there’s a bunch of issues that, quite frankly, most liberals are afraid to talk about. […] Where are we on all those psychiatric drugs? We’ve overmedicated kids. Quite frankly some of the overmedication of kids are because welfare moms want to get additional benefits and if they can put them on SSI through maintenance drugs, they can also put them on Social Security disability and get a separate check”.

What is wrong with the Republican Party – ‘Paul Ryan, Now and Then’

paul ryan

“No one is suggesting that what we call our earned entitlements — entitlements you pay for, like payroll taxes for Medicare and Social Security — are putting you in a ‘taker’ category. No one would suggest that whatsoever.”

— Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), criticizing President Obama’s inaugural speech on Laura Ingraham’s radio show today.

“Right now about 60 percent of the American people get more benefits in dollar value from the federal government than they pay back in taxes. So we’re going to a majority of takers versus makers.”

— Ryan, on Washington Watch in June 2010.

The Fifth Column

Yawn

The Huffington Post

Wayne LaPierre, chief executive of the National Rifle Association, on Tuesday delivered a strange and strident rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s inaugural address, accusing the president of reducing the U.S. Constitution to “a blank slate for anyone’s graffitti” and lavishly praising a Supreme Court justice who famously ruled to limit gun rights.

Speaking at the annual Weatherby International Hunting and Conservation Awards in Reno, Nev., LaPierre zeroed in on a line in Obama’s inaugural address, delivered Monday, in which the president said “we cannot afford to mistake absolutism for principle.” The line was a subtle reference to the gun control debate, and the tendency of gun rights activists to interpret the Second Amendment as giving carte blanche rights to buy and carry any type of firearm anywhere.

“Absolutes do exist, it’s the basis of all civilization,” said LaPierre. “Without those absolutes, Democracy decays into nothing more…
