Blog Running – ‘Death By Ideology’ – By PAUL KRUGMAN

Come on America!

We NEED Mitt Romney!

There is a LOT more to the Paul Krugman op-ed but the little I c&p says it all.

‘Mitt Romney doesn’t see dead people. But that’s only because he doesn’t want to see them; if he did, he’d have to acknowledge the ugly reality of what will happen if he and Paul Ryan get their way on health care’.

‘Last week, speaking to The Columbus Dispatch, Mr. Romney declared that nobody in America dies because he or she is uninsured: “We don’t have people that become ill, who die in their apartment because they don’t have insurance.”

“Facts!? – We Don’t need no stinking ‘facts’ – When Mitt Romney needs help because he can’t lie fast enough on his own – ‘Fox Host Challenges ‘Hardly Non-Partisan Studies’ Romney Cites To Defend Tax Plan’

‘For more than a month, Mitt Romney has cited six debunked studies to support his mathematically impossible plan to cut tax rates by 20 percent, while balancing the budget without raising taxes on the middle class’.

‘On Sunday, Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace pressed senior Romney adviser Ed Gillespie on the credibility of these six studies, noting that each of them have serious issues’:

GILLESPIE: “Six different studies have said this is entirely doable”.

WALLACE: “Those are very questionable. Some of them are blogs, some of them are from AEI, an independent group”.

GILLESPIE: “These are very credible sources”.

WALLACE: “One of them is a blog from a guy who was a top adviser for George W. Bush. These are hardly non-partisan studies”.

GILLESPIE: “Look Chris these AEI and other studies are very credible sources of analysis”.

‘Two of the six studies are Wall Street Journal editorials that repeat familiar Republican talking points without crunching any numbers’.

‘Wallace pointed out a third study from former Bush adviser Harvey Rosen, which assumes Romney’s plan would generate enough economic growth to pay for the revenue loss, the same tax logic used by George W. Bush’.

‘Yet another one of the six studies is a white paper from the Romney campaign itself’.

‘Even an AEI tax expert suggested Romney’s math wouldn’t work, saying “he’s going to need to cut rates significantly less than 20 percent if he wants to honor his other goals.”

‘But there is one study the Romney campaign hasn’t used’.

‘The Tax Policy Center found that Romney would need to raise taxes on the middle class even if he closed every single tax loophole for the wealthy’.

‘Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Economy and an adviser to the 2008 McCain campaign, called that study the “definitive” one on Romney’s plan’.

Facts!? We don’t need no stinking ‘facts’ – When Mitt Romney needs help because he can’t lie fast enough on his own – ‘GOP Senator Denies Indisputable Facts On Obama’s Employment Record’

‘On ABC News’ This Week Sunday morning, anchor Jake Tapper pressed GOP Sen. Rob Portman (OH) on Paul Ryan’s false claim during the Vice Presidential debate that the unemployment rate is higher today then when Obama took office’.

TAPPER: “‘That’s how it’s going all around america.’ This has been weak economic recovery, without question. but it is a recovery. and unemployment is going down, as a factual matter. Why would Congressman Ryan, in defiance of facts, suggest otherwise”?

PORTMAN: “I think that what he was saying was the truth: unemployment is higher today than when the president took office. Unfortunately, in the meantime, we’ve created net zero jobs, Jake”.

‘The numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ September jobs report prove both of Portman’s claims wrong: unemployment is lower than the day President Obama took office and the economy has created net positive jobs’.

‘Unless Portman is signaling that he agrees with the discredited conspiracy theory that the non-partisan BLS is cooking the books, these are, as Tapper said, indisputable facts’.

The ‘new’ Republican Party – ‘Man At Romney Rally Wears Mindblowingly Offensive Shirt’

Is it enough to say – ‘That doesn’t represent us’?

Or should you speak out against racial hatred?

‘The Getty Images photo was taken at a Romney/Ryan campaign event in Lancaster, Ohio on Friday’.

‘Update Jamie Sabau, the Getty photographer who took the photo tells BuzzFeed the photo “was taken inside the rally, not taken in line” as some have questioned’.

‘Update 2 Jodi Einhorn, manager of public relations for Getty Images also confirms “that contributing photographer Jamie Sabau shot the image in Lancaster, OH during a rally for Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Republican vice presidential candidate Representative Paul Ryan.”

A ‘Conservative’ teabagger vision for America – ‘Women are ‘Too Emotional, Too Diabolical’ To Vote, Says Mississippi Tea Party Leader’

Go ahead and keep telling yourself ‘Oh this is just a few finge people’.

This IS the ‘new’ Republican party.

Don’t beleive me?

Vote them in and in two years – some of us may not be able to vote at all.

‘Being a Tea Party leader in any state in the good old US (even the smart states) means that you must be the most rusted-out screwdriver among a shed chock full of very dull tools’.

‘But Tea Party leader and Mississippi is a coupling like Smith and Wesson or gasoline and fire; nothing possibly good can come from the pairing’.

‘Super liberty and truck nutz loving Janis Lane, the president of the Central Mississippi Tea Party, believes that women should be denied the right to vote ‘:

““Our country might have been better off if it was still just men voting. There is nothing worse than a bunch of mean, hateful women. They are diabolical in how than can skewer a person. I don’t see that in men“ said Lane during an interview with the Jackson Free Press’.

Sunday Picks – The Walking Dead Football Picks

There’s two things you can do when you get your butt kicked.

You can summon up all the bluster you got and say “No I didn’t” while everybody snickers and laughs their collective asses off or you can say ‘Man, I got my butt kicked’.

I got my butt kicked.

Over all
Backwoods 51 – 40
Kane 47 – 44 –

This weekend
Backwoods – 6-8
Kane 4-10

Backy you need the win tonight to break even.

Well. That didn’t happen.

Of the 6 games we differed in, I got wins with Tennessee (Matt’s Back!) and Miami. You got wins with Cleveland (Cleveland??), the Jets (Talk about a whomping!), Tampa Bay and I can’t frickin believe I’m typing this the Hawks!

NE won’t make the ppalyoff playing like that.

The GB v. Houston and NYG v. San Fran were the real shockers.

There is little incentive to watch predictable games, so all in all a good football weekend.

A ‘Conservative’ teabagger vision for America – ‘Wisconsin Senate Candidate’s Son Says We “Have The Opportunity” To Send Obama Back To Kenya’

Back in the days when our elected representatives use to work for the good of the Nation and not their political party, I actually respected Tommy Thompson.

Not to say I always agreed but….

I guess the ‘seed’ fell far from the tree’.

Much like Mitt and his father George.

This is more of ‘squezzing the toothpaste of of the tube politics’ and then coming back later and saying ‘Oh, I’m sorry’.

But it excites that teabagger base of the Republican Party that they so desperately want and need.

A ‘Conservative’ vision for America – ‘Another CEO Threatens To Fire Employees If Obama Wins’

This is the very real threat of giving power to business.

Living with the knowledge that your employer can and will tell you how to vote.

Living with the fear that if his political wishes aren’t satisified – you may well lose your job.

Living with the knowledge that your employer has access to your medical records.

Living with the knowledge that your employer can and will impose HIS/HER relegious and moral values on your health care coverage.

So go ahead Amercia.

Vote for politicians that want to turn America into a corporation and run it for profit – not for people.

All under the guise of ‘free enterprise’, ‘liberty’ and ‘freedom’.

‘Last week, billionaire CEO David Siegel, who runs a timeshare empire, threatened to fire employees if President Obama is reelected in November, saying in an email, “the economy doesn’t currently pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is another 4 years of the same Presidential administration.”

‘MSNBC’s Chris Hayes reported today on another CEO — Arthur Allen of ASG Software Solutions — who said in an email to his employees that they’d only have themselves to blame if they lose their jobs if Obama wins’.

‘The email reads, in part’:

“As you know, together, we have been able to keep ASG an independent company while still growing our revenues and customers”.

“But I can tell you, if the US re-elects President Obama, our chances of staying independent are slim to none”.

“I am already heavily involved in considering options that make our independence go away, and with that all of our lives would change forever”.

“I believe that a new President and administration would give US citizens and the world the renewed confidence and optimism we all need to get the global economies started again, and give ASG a chance to stay independent”.

“If we fail as a nation to make the right choice on November 6th, and we lose our independence as a company, I don’t want to hear any complaints regarding the fallout that will most likely come”.

“I am asking you to give us one more chance to stay independent by voting in a new President and administration on November 6th”.

‘In These Times also reported today that a company owned by billionaire right-wing activists David and Charles Koch sent pro-Romney mailers to its employees. The mailer gives a veiled warning that, if Obama is reelected, “then many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences, including higher gasoline prices, runaway inflation, and other ills.”

“Obama’s a communist”

I was watching Chris Matthews and saw this. Even though I live in a ‘blue’ State, I live in Eastern Washington and that is VERY conservsative.

So I see, hear, interact with people exactly like this everyday.

‘It’s tempting to call this woman a nut – and she may be – but she’s representative of far more Republicans than people would care to admit’.

‘And in America, when you call someone a socialist it means the same thing as calling them a communist’.

‘Sure this woman can’t even answer Chris Matthews’ simple question “what do you mean,” but even that’s indicative of Obama’s GOP critics’.

‘It’s the Fox Newsification of the Republican party. Propaganda and hatred are all that matter’.

‘It doesn’t matter if you’re right. So long as you hate half the country, you’re the best American of all’.
