The Weekly 2012 – Why Mitt Romney will lose

We, Americans, actually deserved an intelligent, reasoned debate on the issues.

President Obama has from time to time, given us that.

What does the Republican Party do?

You had Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachmann, Donald Trump, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney as your candidates.

And you expected THEM to give us intelligent and reasoned?

From PEW : ‘Obama now leads Romney by nearly three-to-one (66% to 23%) as the candidate who connects well with ordinary Americans.’

Back on June 27 I wrote a ‘Weekly 2012’ on Why President Obama would win – and no it’s not the economy.

From that :

‘A month ago, Romney’s favorable/unfavorable score stood at 34-38 percent nationally and 36-36 percent in the 12 swing states’.

‘(The 12 ‘swing’ States are : Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin)’.

‘But in this latest survey, his national fav/unfav score is 33-39 percent and 30-41 percent in the swing states’.

‘Romney has gained no ground on Obama in being seen as more credible or more empathetic, and Obama now leads Romney by nearly three-to-one (66% to 23%) as the candidate who connects well with ordinary Americans – an even wider margin than in June’.

‘Latest Swing State Polls’

Mitt Romney doesnt care about 47% of Americans ‘

@ : http://forum.grasscity.com/politics/1109324-mitt-romney-doesnt-care-about-47%25-americans-3.html

I should leave this for List of X http://listofx.wordpress.com/ (there are 10 of them) and keeping very well in mind that polls are only as good as the next one, meaning that the only ‘poll’ that matters is the vote, this is very telling.

And keep in mind, most DON’T have Mitt Romney’s ‘47% are victims’ response.

Here are the today’s swing state polls, updated as needed throughout the day:

‘A new USA Today/Gallup Poll of twelve swing states shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by just two points, 48% to 46%’.

‘Colorado: Obama 48%, Romney 47% (Quinnipiac/CBS News/NYT)’

‘Florida: Obama 49%, Romney 44% (Fox News)’

‘Ohio: Obama 49%, Romney 42% (Fox News)’

‘Michigan: Obama 52%, Romney 44% (CNN/ORC)’

‘Pennsylvania: Obama 50%, Romney 41% (Morning Call/Muhlenberg)’

‘Virginia: Obama 50%, Romney 46% (Quinnipiac/CBS News/NYT)’

‘Virginia: Obama 49%, Romney 46% (We Ask America)’

‘Virginia: Obama 50%, Romney 43% (Fox News)’

‘Wisconsin:Obama 51%, Romney 45% (Quinnipiac/CBS News/NYT)’

‘Wisconsin: Obama 54%, Romney 40% (Marquette Law School)’

Blog Running – ‘Mitt is down; out looms next’

A GREAT!!!! op-ed over at Politico by Roger Simon :

@ : http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/81367.html

I like the AmericaBlog out takes………

‘The Romney campaign is skidding along on its axles and scraping its muffler. Soon it will be down to the dog on the roof’.

‘But as I have been saying for a while now, Mitt Romney is a deeply flawed candidate who got the Republican nomination by beating a ludicrously weak field. Don’t believe me’?

‘You know who came in second? Rick Santorum. Newt Gingrich was third, and Ron Paul was fourth. That’s not a field; that’s a therapy group’.

‘With its tunnel vision, the Romney campaign assumed an economic downturn would mean Americans would want to elect a businessman to the presidency’.

‘Yet the economic downturn was caused in part by shady business practices, runaway greed and outright dishonesty at the highest reaches of America’s corporate community’.

‘Did Americans really want to elect the guy on the cover of the Monopoly box or throw him in jail’?

‘And there is another thing that troubles me even though some dismiss it as trivial. I am still bothered by Romney attacking that gay kid and cutting off his hair with a pair of scissors when they were in prep school’.

‘A ghetto kid does that and he gets booked for assault with a deadly weapon. But what does the son of a governor get? A law degree from Harvard’.

A ‘Conservative’ (and tea bagger) vision for America – ‘GOP Congressional Candidate Says Mideast Turmoil Is Because Of ‘Girly Men’ In The White House

‘A Republican congressional nominee laid the blame for turmoil in the Middle East on “girly men” in the White House’.

‘North Carolina State Sen. David Rouzer (R), the GOP nominee in the state’s 7th congressional district, levied the charge during a speech at a Tea Party Express rally in Wilmington on Sunday’.

ROUZER: “When we get [Romney and Ryan] in you are going to see a big change, you’re going to see number one that America is going to be respected again around the world. You’re going to see all this turmoil that’s taking place, you’re going to see them look up and say guess what, the American people have spoken and maybe we need to cut it out a little bit, maybe we need to tone it down a little bit, because now we have real men in the White House”.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: “No girly men”!

ROUZER: “That’s right, no girly men”.

A ‘Conservative’ ( and tea bagger) vision for America – ‘Ohio Secretary of State Reveals Plan To Further Restrict Voting’

The ‘new’ Republican Parety has to keep the tea baggers shappy.

Remember if you have an historicaly accurate knowledge of our Founding Fathers rather then the usual tea bagger romantic one, only white men, over 21 who owned property could vote.

That was a Founding Father ‘principle’.

But we’ve grown and changed as a Country.

Well most of us.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted (R) wants to take us backwards……

‘Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted (R), apparently not satisfied with restricting state-wide early voting hours, has now admitted he wants to reduce the number of valid IDs voters can show at the polls’.

‘A leaked audio recording of a Tea Party event in Cincinnati caught the Secretary reassuring Tea Party members that the Legislature plans to push strict voter ID requirements that he once opposed’:

“I was listening to a show one night about these onerous photo ID rules in Ohio. Well, the photo ID law in Ohio is not onerous. As a matter of fact, I suspect the GA [General Assembly] will take up a more strict version of what we have after this election process”.

But it’s NOT Republican Obstructionism – ‘GOP blocks veterans jobs bill with budget vote’

This is the ‘new’ Republican Party.

It turns out, a Veteran’s job bill – from the Senate – is Unconstitutional!

And the Republican House wouldn’t pass it!

Why?

It violates the ‘Budget Control Act.

Sorry Veterans.

Helping you get jobs cost America too much money so serve your Country and then just go away.

‘The $1 billion bill was to have paid for itself with new revenue over 10 years’.

‘Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (R-Ill.) requested a motion to waive the budget point of order, which was raised by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.). Democrats needed 60 votes, but got only 58’.

‘Republican senators say the bill allows for more spending at the Veterans Administration than what was agreed to in the Budget Control Act, which is why they raised a point of order.

“This point of order puts a price on what we are willing to provide our veterans and it says ‘not a penny more,’ ” Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray (D-Wash.) said before the vote’.

“This violates the Budget Control Act, there is no dispute about it,” Sessions said in a floor speech Wednesday. “The bill will not even go through the House and it violates the Constitution because it says revenue bills must be started in the House … [and] this is a revenue bill.”

‘The Veterans Jobs Corp Act would have created new job-training programs to help veterans find work in targeted fields such as national park conservation, historic preservation projects, police work and firefighting, among others’.
