‘It is unclear whether the tax strategy was used while Romney was at the helm of the company, but the Times reports that Romney is still making money on funds that are using the method in question’.

‘Bain Capital, the private equity firm founded by presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is under investigation for questionable tax practices, according to the New York Times’.

‘Since July, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been issuing subpoenas to private equity firms including Bain, which he believes intentionally changed management fees into capital gains as a way of hanging onto millions of dollars that would have otherwise been taxed at a higher rate’.

‘Bain alone is estimated to have saved “more than $200 million in federal income taxes and more than $20 million in Medicare taxes.”

‘A lawyer who handles Romney’s money says he “can confirm that neither he nor the trust has ever done this, whether before or after he retired from Bain Capital.”

‘Still, little is known about Romney’s finances, except that he makes a windfall on capital gains each year, since he has refused to release his tax returns’.

She had to propose an Amendment to the United States Constitution saying that the Constitution was the ‘law of the land’ just to ‘prove’ to her fellow Republicans that she was a ‘real’ American.

See we’re a ‘Christian’ Nation. That means only ‘Christians’ can be ‘real’ Americans.

And after we get rid of all these fake Americans who aren’t ‘Christians’, then we’ll start telling everybody what a ‘real’ ‘Christian’ is.

And in 20 years – if you don’t think exactly like us – well there won’t BE anybody that doesn’t think like us!

‘In Tennessee, an incumbent in the U.S. House found herself on the defensive after being called soft on Shariah law, the code that guides Muslim beliefs and actions. And the state’s governor has been forced to explain why he hired a Muslim’.

‘Lee Douglas, a dentist just south of Nashville and an anti-Shariah activist, points to the Muslim woman hired in Tennessee’s economic development office as evidence of an “infiltration” of Islam in government. Douglas helped draft a resolution criticizing the governor and Islam. A version of the document has been signed by a growing list of GOP executive committees, from rural counties to the state’s wealthiest’.

“By stopping this now, we’re going to save ourselves a lot of difficulty in the future,” he says’.

‘Douglas believes Islam is diametrically opposed to his faith’.

“I don’t want anybody to persecute any religion including Islam, but we have a duty as Americans to understand that they intend to take us over and compel us to become Islamic,” Douglas says’.

‘The First Amendment may provide the freedom to practice all religions, but, according to Douglas, the “government is showing a deference and is accommodating one single religion — Islam, Shariah,” he says’.

‘Fox News Pundit Claims: ‘Worst Of The Recession Was Over By The Time Barack Obama Took Office’

‘On Sunday, Fox News pundit Brit Hume suggested that the economic recovery from the Great Recession had already begun by the time that President Obama was elected president’.

 

‘The truth is, the worst of the recession was over by the time Barack Obama took office, the economy began to grow again in June of 2009 before the stimulus spending had really begun to take effect. So, these are arguments that are available to the Republicans. Oddly, though, we haven’t heard them made effectively’.

‘In fact, the two worst months of job losses during the Great Recession were January of 2009, the month that Obama took office, and March of that year. Layoffs in the private sector peaked in February of 2009, but were back to pre-recession levels by the time the stimulus had been in place for a year’.

‘And while it is true that the bleeding of jobs slowed slightly before the stimulus took hold, major improvements in the United States’ GDP didn’t come until one quarter after the stimulus had hit the economy. Overall, the stimulus created or saved 3.3 million jobs’.
