The Coming 4 Years for a ‘Conservative’ vision for America – ‘Birther Convention Planned For Arizona’

Come on America!

Elect Republicans so they can ‘take back America’…….for themselves!

‘A convention following the GOP convention is being planned in Phoenix, AZ. The website selling tickets for the event describes it as, “A Greater Phoenix Tea Party Patriots Event. Sheriff Joe and his call for Congressional investigation of fraudulent documents.”

‘The fraudulent documents in question being, of course, Obama’s birth certificate(s). The event is scheduled for September 22, and will last about two and a half hours’.

‘Multiple speakers are supposed to be there, such as Pat Boone and the infamous Sheriff Joe Arpaio’.

‘They will be planning to ask Congress to investigate Obama’s birth certificate, which is allegedly forged’.

‘Boone has also been quoted as saying that Michelle Bachmann would make a good president and that Obama is certainly a Muslim, going as far, in fact, as to say that Obama celebrates Ramadan, but no Christian holidays’.

‘Another speaker at the event is the former Army doctor Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, who was dismissed from the military after refusing to deploy because of his belief that President Obama wasn’t qualified by birth to be President of the United States’.

‘He was also later denied a medical license by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts because his failure to deploy as ordered could put soldiers’ lives in danger’.

‘The crowning jewel of the birther convention is, however, Sheriff Joe Arpaio’.

‘For months, the sheriff has been promoting the fringe conspiracy theory of birtherism, which claims Barack Obama’s birth certificate is fake and therefore he is ineligible to be president. But Arpaio took it to a grand scale with his latest stunt, promising to reveal “shocking” information about the document’.

‘What he and his “investigator” ultimately presented, however, was something less than shocking. They spun new webs of the conspiracy, alleging secret codes were hidden in the birth certificate and claiming they found an elderly witness who could decipher the cryptography’.

The Coming 4 Years of a ‘Conservative’ vision for America – ‘Todd Akin and the Anti-Science House Science Committee’

The ‘New’ republicans for a ‘New’ Dark Age for America!

‘Aside from the sheer biological ludicrousness of Todd Akin’s ideas on female physiology, one unsettling subplot to the debacle is his presence on the House of Committee on Science, Space and Technology’.

‘That’s right’:

‘A man who, to put it gently, ignores what science tells us about how babies are made, helps shape the future of science in America. It would be shocking, but for the fact that many of the committee’s GOP members have spent the last several years displaying comparable contempt for climate science’.

‘Now, there’s no question that climate change is less well understood than human reproduction. The rate at which warming permafrost will release methane is open for debate, whereas it’s a long-settled fact that women can become pregnant from rape. But in both cases, there exists a factual proposition that can be studied through observation and hypothesis-testing — and it’s the scientific method itself that’s ultimately under attack in the House science committee’.

‘The committee’s chair, Ralph Hall (R-Texas), lumps “global freezing” together with global warming, which he doesn’t believe humans can significantly impact because “I don’t think we can control what God controls.”

‘Dana Rohrbacher (R-CA) thinks cutting down trees reduces levels of greenhouse gases they absorb’.

‘Mo Brooks (R-Alabama) still trots out the debunked notion that a scientific consensus existed in the 1970s on “global cooling,” which he portrays as a scare concocted by scientists “in order to generate funds for their pet projects.”
‘We ought to have some believable science.’Dan Benishek (R-Michigan) strikes that climate-scientists-as-charlatans note, dismissing contemporary research as “all baloney’.

“I think it’s just some scheme.” Paul Broun (R-Georgia) says that “Scientists all over this world say that the idea of human-induced global climate change is one of the greatest hoaxes perpetrated out of the scientific community.”

‘Broun, who likens the CDC’s encouragement of fruit and vegetable consumption to “socialism of the highest order.”

But it’s NOT Republican Obstructionism – ‘Mississippi Governor Blocks Benefits For Immigrants Granted Deferred Action’

‘Gov. Phil Bryant (R-MS) has ordered state agencies to prevent undocumented immigrants who benefit from President Obama’s deferred action directive from receiving any state public benefits’.

‘He said his executive order stopping the state from granting benefits to DREAM Act-eligible youth who qualify for the federal policy follows current state law’.

‘Mississippi already bans state agencies from providing benefits like unemployment payments or food stamps to people who are not U.S. citizens or legal residents’.

‘Republican governors in Arizona and Nebraska issued similar orders after the deferred action policy went into effect August 15’.

The Coming 4 Years of a “Conservative’ vision for America – ‘Missouri conservatives rally to Akin, blast Republican “establishment”

They’re  ‘outraged’ because the Republican establishment tried to run him (Akin) out of the race?

Let’s remember EXACTLY what he said and THEN look me streaight in the eye and tell me you weren’t ‘outraged’ at that.

Rep. Todd Akin :

“First of all, from what I understand from doctors, (pregnancy from rape) is really rare,” Akin told KTVI-TV in a clip posted to YouTube by the Democratic super PAC American Bridge. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

So ‘from what he understands from Doctors’, (pregnancy from rape) is really rare.’

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

So Missouri ‘Conservatives’, YOU’RE OK with a man representing you that gets his knowledge and advice from ‘doctors’ who tell him pregnancy from RAPE is rare………….

That if it’s a ‘LEGITIMATE’ Rape, well women’s bodies ‘have ways of shutting that whole thing down’.

That doesn’t ‘outrage you Missouri Conservatives?

So if I or ANYONE asked for you to ‘show me’ where there is a State who’s people believe in defining what is a ‘LEGITIMATE RAPE’ and why if it is, then a women’s body will ‘shut that down’.

So people that STUPID would be Missouri ‘Conservatives’.

“At first I felt (Akin’s comments) were offensive to women and insulting to my intelligence,” said Lisa Payne-Naeger, a member of the conservative Missouri Grassroots Coalition, who has an online political radio show. “What changed it for me was the Republican establishment’s effort to chop him off at the knees and install one of their own in the race.”

‘Payne-Naeger said she was so angered by the “onslaught” from party leaders that she donated to Akin’s campaign on Wednesday’.

‘Nearly two dozen Missouri Republicans interviewed on Wednesday and Thursday, most of them in the St. Louis area but some in other parts of the state, expressed similar views’.

Blog Running – Mitt Romney’s vision for America – ‘Mitt Romney Plays the Birther Card’

Come on America!

We need to get behind the honesty, integrity – the sterling character of Mitt Romney for President!

Mitt Romney – “[O]ur campaign would be — helped immensely if we had an agreement between both campaigns that we were only going to talk about issues and that attacks based upon — business or family or taxes or things of that nature.”
From :

Mitt Romney is running on his ‘experience’ at Bain Capital……….but won’t talk about it when pressed for details.

Mitt Romney releases only a part of 1 year of tax returns and his wife Ann says ‘You people have all you need to know’.

Mitt Romney offers a budget but won’t give details on the cuts to spending to off set massive tax breaks for the rich so the ‘budget’ can’t be scored.

Mitt Romney lies and the press allows him to get away with it.

And now……….the ‘dog whistle’ of birtherism.

It’s not just Mitt Romney.

It’s not just the Republican Party.

If you see, hear hate and DON’T speak up, you are just as much to blame.

Ask your Republican friends how it feels to run a campaign on hate instead of, as Mitt Romney said, a campaign on issues.
‘Politicians sometimes think they can get away with saying something profoundly offensive or just plain stupid by acting like it was a joke. It never works, just like it didn’t work today when Mr. Romney shamelessly played the birther card in what seems like an increasingly desperate campaign against President Obama’.

‘Speaking in Commerce, Mich., about his Michigan roots, Mr. Romney said: “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

‘Get it? Everyone knows he’s from Michigan, but nobody is really sure where the president is from’.

‘In April 2011, Mr. Romney himself used the “well if he says so” dodge that many Republicans love. “I think the citizenship test has been passed,” Mr. Romney said. “I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office.”

‘Citizenship test? Barack Obama did not have to take a citizenship test. And why couldn’t Mr. Romney cut out the “I believe” preamble? The president was born in the United States’.

‘But today’s crack was way over the line. His audience laughed and applauded, probably not because they thought Mr. Romney was doing hilarious stand-up comedy, but because they knew exactly what he was up to’.

‘The Romney campaign’s response was especially lame. An adviser, Kevin Madden, said Mr. Romney was “only referencing that Michigan, where he is campaigning today, is the state where he himself was born and raised.” Right’.

The Coming 4 years of a ‘Conservative’ vision for America – ‘7 Birthers Speaking At The Republican Convention’

This IS the ‘new’ Republican Party.

Make sure you tell all your Republican friends that you just love the ‘new’ Republican Party.

‘Indeed, as Republicans head down to Tampa for their convention next week, they are preparing to see a veritable festival of politicians who have dabbled in — or fully embraced — birtherism’.

‘Here are the members of the birther bunch who will be speaking in Tampa next week’:

1. ‘Donald Trump. The famed billionaire/birther king Donald Trump has been the most vociferous — and most closely connected to Romney — person alleging that the President wasn’t born in the United States’.

2. ‘Actress Janine Turner. The Northern Exposure star who has her own conservative radio show wrote a long screed titled “Reasoning ‘Kenyan Born.’” In it, she complains that anyone who questions the president’s citizenship is deemed a racist: “If this were a legal case in court, [Obama’s] book bio stating that Obama was ‘born in Kenya’ would be taken into consideration.”

3. ‘Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens. During a town hall captured on video (at 3:5), Olens said, “You know the state of Hawaii says he’s produced a certified birth certificate… so on one hand I have to trust the state of Hawaii follows the laws. On the other hand it would be nice for the President to say, here it is, I have a copy.”

4. ‘Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. On one radio appearance during Huckabee’s bid for president, the former governor said, “I would love to know more [about where Obama was born]. What I know is troubling enough.” He later walked back the statement’.

5. ‘Florida Gov. Rick Scott. In 2010, the Orlando Sentinel reported than an audience member at one of Scott’s campaign events asked “what he would do about President Obama’s ‘birth certificate’ and whether he could legally appear on the 2012 ballot in Florida.” Scott responded, “I’ll have to look into it.”

6. ‘Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). The Vice-Chairman of the House Republican Conference once told reporters “Oh, I’d like to see the documents.”

7. ‘Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. Jindal was willing to sign a “birther” bill into law. It would have required all presidential candidates to release their birth certificate in order to qualify for a spot on the state’s ballot’.

Shame on Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers – ‘House GOP Vice-Chair On Birthers: “I’d Like To See The Documents”

My apologies to America.
I am a Liberal, living in a ‘blue’ State but from a very ‘red’ 5th District.
A District that re-elects Representative Cathy McMorris-Rodgers over and over (Did I hear a teabagger say ‘term limits’?) so that she raises to the top of the Republican leadership and then, and there is no polite way of saying this, says something so stupid……..

Oh and remember this as you listen to her speak at the Republican National Convention.

‘Birthers may have briefly harbored hope – and people who think the whole idea is crazy as bat spit may have arched an eyebrow – about two weeks ago when the Eastern Washington Republican gave a wishy-washy answer to a question about Obama’s legal qualifications to a blogger from the Huffington Post while hurrying up the Capitol steps’.

‘Asked if she thought Obama was a natural-born citizen, constitutionally permitted to be president, she replied: “We’re all going to find out.”

‘Asked what she believed personally, she said: “Oh, I’d like to see the documents.”

What is Mitt Romney Hiding? – ‘Romney: Releasing tax returns would violate my religious privacy’

Hauling out my very, very best Captain Jack Sparrow……WHAT!?!

So now after releasing a part (including you contributions) of your tax returns for 1 year, you don’t want to release any more because you don’t WANT your contributions known.

Well even now that the ‘horse is out of the barn’, how about you black out your ‘contributions’ and give us the rest of your tax returns.

Mitt Romney –
“Our church doesn’t publish how much people have given,” Romney tells Parade magazine in an edition due out Sunday. “This is done entirely privately. One of the downsides of releasing one’s financial information is that this is now all public, but we had never intended our contributions to be known. It’s a very personal thing between ourselves and our commitment to our God and to our church.”

‘There are a number of problems with this explanation. For instance, as Steve Benen notes, we already know how much he’s given to the Mormon church in at least one year, the one for which he did make his returns available. Alex Seitz Wald, meanwhile, points out that this didn’t stop Romney’s father from releasing a dozen years of tax returns, which detailed how much he’d given to the church’.
