Romney’s Economic Plan Would Throw 13 Million People Off Of Food Stamps While cutting taxes for the wealthy and corporations

Romeny or Ryan, the ‘Conservative’ vision for America.

‘According to an analysis by the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, Romney’s economic plan would throw 13 million people off of food stamps entirely or force him to cut benefits by nearly $2,000 per family per year’:

‘Cuts in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly the Food Stamp Program) would throw 13 million low-income people off the benefit rolls, cut benefits deeply — by over $1,800 a year for a family of four — or some combination of the two. These cuts would primarily affect poor families with children, seniors, and people with disabilities’.

But the good news : ‘Romney’s Tax Plan: Big Benefits for the Wealthy and Higher Deficits’

‘A new Tax Policy Center analysis finds that Mitt Romney’s tax plan would cut taxes for millions of households but bestow most of its benefits on those with the highest incomes. At the same time, it would significantly cut corporate taxes and add hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit’.

Mitt Romney lies – “I will lead us out of this debt and spending inferno.”

One Problem.

‘Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s’.

‘Here are the facts, according to the official government statistics’:

• ‘In the 2009 fiscal year — the last of George W. Bush’s presidency — federal spending rose by 17.9% from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. Check the official numbers at the Office of Management and Budget’.

• ‘In fiscal 2010 — the first budget under Obama — spending fell 1.8% to $3.46 trillion’.

• ‘In fiscal 2011, spending rose 4.3% to $3.60 trillion’.

• ‘In fiscal 2012, spending is set to rise 0.7% to $3.63 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate of the budget that was agreed to last August’.

• ‘Finally in fiscal 2013 — the final budget of Obama’s term — spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion. Read the CBO’s latest budget outlook’.

‘When Obama took the oath of office, the $789 billion bank bailout had already been approved. Federal spending on unemployment benefits, food stamps and Medicare was already surging to meet the dire unemployment crisis that was well under way. See the CBO’s January 2009 budget outlook’.

Members Of New GOP Women’s Caucus Voted Against Equality For Women

I’m still debating with myself if this meets the level of a ‘War On Women’, but with friends like these, who needs enemies.

Sadly my US Representative in the 5th District, Cathy McMorris-Rodgers is one of the ‘leaders’.

‘The 24 Republican Congresswomen in the U.S. House announced yesterday that they have joined to form the Women’s Policy Committee, a caucus aimed at “raising the profile of GOP women in their roles as lawmakers, highlighting their diverse achievements and providing a unique, unified voice on a wide range of critically important issues.”

‘In lauding the group’s formation, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said “Make no mistake, these aren’t just leaders on so-called ‘women’s issues,’ these are women leaders on all issues.”

•’Violence Against Women: Of the 24 women, 22 voted to rollback the Violence Against Women Act, backing a version of the bill that could violate the confidentiality of victims and that excluded protections for immigrants, LGBT people, and Native Americans’.

•’Access to contraception: 21 of the 24 co-sponsored the “Respect for Rights of Conscience Act” to take away regulations enacted under Obamacare requiring most employers to cover birth control in their health insurance plans, without additional cost-sharing’.

•’Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act: Of the 15 Republican Congresswomen who were in the House at the time, all 15 voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, a law that helps women hold accountable employers who discriminate in the pay practices based on gender’.

•’Paycheck Fairness Act Act: 13 of those 15 also voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would update the 1963 Equal Pay Act by closing many of its loopholes and strengthening incentives to prevent pay discrimination’.

•’Reproductive health: According to Planned Parenthood, 20 of the 24 GOP women earned a zero score, voting against reproductive health at every opportunity. The average score for the women was under 6 percent’.

Iowa’s GOP Platform Endorses Birtherism and a Whole Lot Of Other Crazy Crap – A ‘Conservative’ vision for America

I had to stop three times while copying this because I was laughing so hard.

Whats’ so sad and terrifying is that these people are stone, cold serious.

This is THE ‘Conservative’ vision for America.

Be afraid America. Very afraid.

Here’s the Platform :

And here’s just SOME of the Crazy Crap:

1. ‘BIRTHERISM: Under the section entitled ‘Elections,’ the Iowa GOP uses non-specific language to hint at the idea that President Obama was not born in the United States. The section reads’:

‘We insist that a candidate prove that he or she meets all requirements for that office prior to being placed in nomination, including proof of United States citizenship’.

2. ‘GETTING RID OF GOVERNMENT: The platform proposes the elimination of 16 federal departments and agencies — despite the fact that throughout the rest of the document they call on these particular agencies to enact or repeal certain policies’:

‘We support the elimination of the departments of Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Energy, Interior, Labor, and Commerce as well as TSA, FDA, ATF, EPA, National Endowment for the Arts, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac’.

3. ‘INVESTIGATING ACORN: The Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) came up a lot during the 2008 election, because it was a ‘radical‘ group that ran voter turnout for President Obama. Critics — and apparently the Iowa GOP — believe that Obama ‘stole’ the election using ACORN. Despite the fact that ACORN no longer exists, the Iowa platform calls for an investigation’:

‘We call for a full investigation of the organization formerly known as ACORN and its allied organizations, call for full prosecution of those involved in any illegalities discovered, and call for elimination of government funding of such organizations’.

4. ‘AGENDA 21: While most think of Agenda 21 as a global sustainable development campaign, there is a long-running conspiracy theory that the UN effort is actually a plan for world-dominating government entity. The Iowa GOP has included this theory as well’:

‘We demand that the term “sustainable development” be defined, vetted, and controlled by county and state agricultural agencies whose private property it impacts rather than the UN, other international or Agenda 21 agencies, or any federal organization’.

5. ‘NULLIFICATION: The platform takes the stance of ‘nullification’– that any state, under the 10th amendment, can choose to side-step federal law because they deem it unconstitutional. The platform also takes the stance that they can ignore Supreme Court rulings under the 10th amendment’:

‘We support constitutional state sovereignty including nullification of federal oversteps’.

‘We disagree with Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton as “settled law.” Under the Tenth amendment, these Supreme Court decisions have no authority over the states’.

Fox News President: ‘We Still Don’t Know Anything About Obama’

‘In a guest lecture at Ohio University Monday night, Fox News head Roger Ailes touched on media bias, the Obama administration’s legitimacy, and whether comedian Jon Stewart would be on air without Fox News’.

During the event, titled “FOX News: Past, Present and Future,” Ailes argued that U.S. voters still don’t know anything about Barack Obama’.

‘At Ailes’ request, no audio or video was allowed at the event’.

‘According to Wesley Lowery, a reporter who was in attendance, “Moderator Andy Alexander asked him specifically about that, and whether it showed a lack of transparency. Ailes responded that OU asked him to speak, so OU has to play by his rules. ‘To be honest, I don’t give a damn about being here,’” Ailes said’.

‘Roger Ailes has apparently apologized for some of his comments. According to the Daily Beast, “a senior Fox News executive says Ailes realizes he went too far” when he called the New York Times “a bunch of lying scum.”

@WesleyLowery “Tiger Woods gets hit with a 4 iron and we know every girlfriend within 12 miles. We still don’t know anything about Obama” #AilesOU

‘Still, Ailes criticized the New York Times, the AP, and MSNBC for being unbalanced left-leaning news sources’:
Wesley Lowery
@WesleyLowery “I would love for the AP to go back to being a neutral news source” — Roger Ailes #AilesOU

‘He also knocked comedian Jon Stewart, whose news parody show The Daily Show often mocks Fox News’:

@WesleyLowery “They’re not news programs…Jon Stewart would go out of business w/o Fox News” – Ailes, on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert #AilesOU
