The Last Of The Millenniums

Back from the dead – Romney “we were able to help create over 100,000 jobs”

Romney and a jerk of a Mayor in New Jersey, claim that Obama is ‘attacking free enterprise’.

No they are presenting Romney’s ‘job creator’ record.

Romney just can’t make up his mind on how many he created.

But that’s what happens when you lie. You can’t remember the truth.

Misinformation. Disinformation. Lies. Mitt Romney. 2012.

‘Mitt Romney, who has been silent up to this point on the Obama campaign’s extensive attacks on his private equity career, defended his experience in an interview with conservative blogger Ed Morissey’.

‘Here’s what he said’:

‘The most recent attacks are really off target and I think they know. They said, oh, gosh, Gov. Romney at Bain Capital closed down a steel factory. But the problem, of course, is that the steel factory closed down two years after I left Bain Capital. I was no longer there. So that’s hardly something that was done on my watch. And of course they don’t mention a couple of other things. One is that we were able to help create over 100,000 jobs’.

‘As recently as two weeks ago, Romney had a fairly specific number in mind when it came to the jobs created by his vulture-capitalist firm’.

“I’m very happy in my former life; we helped create over 100,000 new jobs.”

‘A few days ago, the total dropped’.

“People here in the state know that in the work that I had, we started a number of businesses, invested in many others, and that over all created tens of thousands jobs.”

‘This morning, the Romney campaign unveiled a new ad, which moved the goal post again. Greg Sargent picked up on the new message’:

‘The ad claims Romney only created “thousands of jobs,” which is the latest shift in his campaign’s claims’.

‘So, over the course of two weeks, Romney has gone from “over 100,000 jobs” to “tens of thousands” to “thousands.”
From :

‘The number of jobs Romney presided over at Bain has varied widely according to his own estimates. When he ran against Ted Kennedy in 1994, Romney said he created 10,000 jobs while at Bain. During the 2012 presidential campaign, Romney’s campaign has claimed he created “over 100,000 new jobs,” “tens of thousands jobs” and “thousands of jobs” at Bain. It’s impossible to know if any of these figures are accurate—every time the Romney campaign is pressed on the details, the number of jobs he created at Bain seems to decrease’.

‘Give me that old time religion’ – NC Pastor Wants To Build Electrified Fence To Contain, Starve And Ultimately Kill Gays

Please tell me how we are a ‘Christian Nation’ if this is a ‘Christian’.

‘In a sermon blasting President Obama for his same-sex marriage support, Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, North Carolina, offered a novel — and horrific — solution to the so-called gay scourge:

“I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers,” he says in his sermon, delivered on May 13. “Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there… Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out… And you know what, in a few years, they’ll die.”

‘Throughout the sermon, many of his congregants can be heard calling out “Amen’.

What if there was no Filibuster?

‘Let’s take only the Obama presidency. Had the filibuster not applied, the United States would have a market-based system to control carbon emissions, which would limit the damage from global warming, vitalize the clean technology sector, and challenge other large polluters like China and India to do the same. The new health care law would have a public option. Children of undocumented immigrants who served two years in the military or went to college could become US citizens. Women paid less than their male colleagues because of their gender would have broader legal recourse against their employers. Billionaires would not be able to manipulate the political system from behind a veil of anonymity’.

And then consider Grover Norqusit’s words :

‘At our 25th college reunion in 2003, Grover Norquist — the brain and able spokesman for the radical right — and I, along with other classmates who had been in public or political life, participated in a lively panel discussion about politics. During his presentation, Norquist explained why he believed that there would be a permanent Republican majority in America’.

‘One person interrupted, as I recall, and said, “C’mon, Grover, surely one day a Democrat will win the White House.”

‘Norquist immediately replied: “We will make it so that a Democrat cannot govern as a Democrat.”
