What is wrong with the Republican Party? – ‘Conservatives lambast Romney, vow to take over Republican Party’
I was raised that is if you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.
Kinda broke THAT rule this election! (GRINS!)
Anyway.
What is right about the Republican Party?
This :
The only problem – we almost never see that.
But if your mantra is ‘No Compromise’, then the only thing you see wrong is that your candidate compromised.
Will this change? How will it change?
Two ‘Conservative’ parties? Or one but torn apart?
In 2016 look for Chris Christie to take the moderate Republicans and Paul Ryan and Rick Santorum to take the ‘No Compromisers’.
‘Conservative leaders on Wednesday lashed out at Mitt Romney, saying his attempts to paint himself as a centrist and hide his principles cost him the presidency’.
“The battle to take over the Republican Party begins today and the failed Republican leadership should resign,” said Richard Viguerie, a top activist and chairman of ConservativeHQ.com’.
“It should have been a landslide if Romney had run as a true conservative,” said Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center’.

‘True Conservative’.
Rush Limbaugh -
“Romney is not a conservative. He’s not, folks. You can argue with me all day long on that, but he isn’t”.

Eric Erickson -
“Conservatism is already dying. Republicans on Capitol Hill are about to raise taxes on the American people with this Super Committee, but they’ll say they are just “raising revenue,” not taxes. Conservatives will give them a pass as they have on virtually every other major issue. Conservatives keep giving passes to people who shouldn’t be given passes”.

“These are powerful words that can create a clear and easily understood contrast. Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals and their party”.
“Corrupt”

“Traitors”

Grover Norquist -
‘During his presentation, Norquist explained why he believed that there would be a permanent Republican majority in America’.
‘One person interrupted, as I recall, and said, “C’mon, Grover, surely one day a Democrat will win the White House.”
“Norquist immediately replied: “We will make it so that a Democrat cannot govern as a Democrat.”

It’s a sad thing when the way that McCain reacted to that crazy lady is now frowned upon by the GOP establishment. The “us or them” mentality, the inability to stand up against those extremists who are killing your party…it’s just insane.
Preaching to the choir!
WHile it’s way too early, it’s looking like Chris Christie vs Rick Santorum in 2016. Christie will crush Santorum and maybe, just maybe bring a little sanity back to the GOP.
That’s a fair enough prediction. I could see this being the case, but there’s a lot that could happen between now and then. And I’d also be surprised if they didn’t try to do some pandering by putting a Latino GOP poster boy (Rubio probably) into it somehow.
Funny you should mention Marco Rubio.
It just so happens he is going to be in Iowa next month.
Gee. I wonder what for?
Ha! And so it begins…
My bad. Rubio is going next week.
